Cutting with Port-a-torch

HI all, hope this is the correct forum, looking for some guidance on using a port a torch.

Will use for cutting as I've got a DC stick welder for welding.

Looking for help in how do I set the regulators, the instructions in the kit are very poor.

Any help is appreciated, I've never used a torch before.

Will be a bunch easier than cutting wheels for some of the metal I cut.

Maybe this will help some. Your cutting time will vary based on thickness of steel.

It is sometimes best to have a spare set of tanks, in case you run out of gas in the middle of a project. Sometimes town might be 40 miles away, and it is Sunday, etc. By the way, Harbor Freight sells those tanks, but you might find them cheaper.

Might be a better idea to have 3 or 4 extra tanks available as cutting uses them up quick. Back when I did HVACR work I carried two extras on teh truck, granted I never went through an entire tank in a day but when ya run out and the shop is 20 miles away and the boss finds out you came back to get a tank... you learn to carry 2 tanks.

My free advice is unless you need the portability, get the larger 100cf (or so) cylinders.

You'll learn to use the "blue wrench" for heating (can be heat-treating high carbon and some tool-steels), bending, and small blacksmithing/forging projects. Works nice for silver-soldering, brazing and sweat-soldering large copper pipes (1-1/4" and larger). Rusted bolts come out easy.

My thoughts are you will have spent 75% of the cost of a larger set on the Porta-torch.
