I have a CIH 385 with the short tires on the back causing me to not have enough lift for certain implements.
So I'm wondering if a machine shop could make more threads on the shafts of the leveling screws on the 3-point hitch?

They look like 7/8ths bolt threads, but I don't know how hard they are. I figure they would probably be a grade 8 or better.
What do you guys think? Can hardened bolts be threaded?

How about just making up some short lengths of chain with the right ends to put in place of the levelers?

But to directly respond to your question, remove one and take it to a machine shop. If it can be put in a lathe, then the threads could be made with a fair amount of set-up and making of cutting tool.

I drilled another set of holes in the lower lift arms about 1" closer to the pivot .

This will cut down some on the weight you can lift but add some height to the lift

I appreciate both of your suggestions.

I went ahead and took them to a machine shop to see what they would say, and they said no problem. They will charge $30 for threading both of them.

I figure that's a fair price and an easy fix.

The lift rods can easily be threaded. A plumber could do the job also.
