*update*
I bought a new glass cutter. The one I got this time holds oil and lubes as you cut it also uses a carbide wheel. I have found it to work much better then the one I had before. I still broke some glass but I think that was more opperator error than before.

Here's tip for ya, put the cutter between your pointer finger and your..... uhhhh finger next to it. then put your thumb on the barrel of the cutter just above the wheel. feels akward at first but you can control the cutter completely. Easier to push it forward, score it lightly just make it sing. If you see grains of glass way to much pressure. As for cutting laminate glass, I didn't see the orginal post but a lot of laminated glass is also tempered which means lots of tiny chunks if you try and break it. Find a machine shop with a water jet cutter, they like challenges. Cut glass for 45 yrs, If you can find a Toyo oil filled cutter it'll last for ever, heads are changeble.

I believe the cutter I bought was a toyo. It is a pistol grip model though. I think one problem I have is I go too slow instead of just a quick run of the cutter. Do you think that would do it?

This is not a suggestion. At shows, I / We have wraped glass with aluminum tape on both sides. Not Duct Tape but the aluminum or stainless type that you have to peel the paper off the back. Apply to both sides of glass, Hook up ground and cut it with a plasma cutter. Wear protective clothes as some types of glass will pop when cut. Like I said. I do not suggest you try it but I have seen it done with an ok cut.

My body shop used a lot of glass from a local glass shop. The guy's there, always hated cutting laminated glass. Because, it was difficult for them to cut too.

Laminated? Easy. Score one side, carefully apply force to complete the break, being careful not to break the other side. Flip the glass over, repeat. At this point, you pour a little alcohol along the entire "break" and light it. That's what I said, Set the alcohol on fire! Then, as the heat melts the plastic laminate layer between the glass, you slowly apply pressure until the whole thing separates. Just don't force it too much, or you will get "oyster chips" along the cut edge.
