Custom reverse HST pedal?

I'm not a big fan of the heel/toe forward and reverse pedal layout on my B series. Anyone heard of making a custom pedal that will be side by side like a JD layout?

I would like to see your solution.........I am not so thrilled with my heel controlling reverse.......although it does make you think before pressing. The right side of my B21 is crowded with two brake pedals and one forward......I do not know where you would put it without risk. It is tough to put the parking brake on now with the number of pedals there now.

I don't like the heel/toe lever either.


When I looked at a cab model Kubota a couple years ago it had 2 side-by-side toe pedals for HST.

I wonder if you could adapt the Kubota toe pedals?

I used Jojn Deeres for years before I bought my first Kubota and still own two and the "heel and toe" HST is one of the things I preferred about the Kubota.

Scarlo101 -- nice job on the loader! I especially like the quick-attach setup. Plus, it looks like it has better height than the Kubota loader.

Jas, QA works better than I expected. Part of the reason I wanted to build my own FEL is because Bota does not make a QA for the BX's. And yes I also designed it to lift higher.
Slan, there were no alterations made below the floorboard. What you see is what you get. It does help with the HST abrupt stopping in reverse because you have better gradual control over the pedal.

scarlo- that hst pedal seems to be a good idea. One thing though- Arent you worried about how small the forward pedal you made ? Is it comfortable ? Can you tell us how you arrived at making that ? it looks like it took you awhile to figure out the first angle for bolt on. Pehaps you could sell them now you have figure it out ?

scarlo101 -- how high does it lift (at the pin)?

My B7100 had a Woods loader on it that lifted to 84" at the pin. The Kubota LA352 on my B7610 only lifts to 69". That is a 15" difference. This is definitely a limiting factor, as I could use my B7100 to load dirt on my neighbors 2 1/2-ton dump, but not my B7610 (not with some 15" high ramps).

I would guess that lawyers had something to do with the pitifully low maximum height.

Love the heel/toe myself, but I'd bet something could be rigged up.

How long have you tried the heel/toe? Might grow on you.

Radioman, the pedal was the first thing I did when I got the BX. I couldn't stand lifting my foot and going back and forth. Yes the angle was quite difficult to master and the plan was to put a larger pedal on if it worked. As you can see I have not got to that part yet, although it works resonably good now. As for selling them, well I wait for the inquiries.
Jas I will measure at the pin next time I am using it.

I've considered that also, perhaps making an additional pedal and leaving the original so it could be used either way, but there always seems to be something else to do around the house and I never get to it, but some day.........

jas, measured it today, the FEL lifts to 81" at the pins. That is another reason I decided to build my own.
