I have a Cub GT2554 that I bought last May, and it has 14 hours on it. Recently I tried to mow with it and when I engaged the PTO it would "white smoke" the belt from the engine pulley. I had greased the fittings but it seems that a bearing somewhere in the deck has seized up (It's presently at the dealer's in the shop). Has anyone else had a similar problem, and if so what was the cause?

Too many possibilities to list! Can you turn the belts by hand? Visually inspect for anything out of the ordinary like a stick binding the belt or something. Remove the belts and check the freedom of movement of each idividual obstacle the belt has. You should have found your problem by then.
