Cub Cadet LT1018 Stalling

I am having a problem with my Cub Cadet mower with Koehler engine. While mowing intermittently the mower will bog down as if it were running out of gas and try to stall. When this happens if I turn off the pto it will recover and run ok for a little while then do it again. It seems like it primarily happens when the mower is on a slight incline or going up or down a hill. I replaced the fuel filter but it is still happening. I thought it might be a dip in the fuel line but this mower has a fuel pump so I don't think it's gravity fed. Thanks for your help! Sean

It could be starving for fuel under load - check your gas cap vent to ensure its not plugged with dirt.

Thanks Carl! I did check the gas cap vent it did not appear to be clogged. I also tried to mow with the gas cap loose and still had the same problem. Not sure were to go from here. Thanks Sean

I have a 1515 with a similar problem, also chased fuel starvation, would stall then catch back or stop completely. Restarted when cooled down:
1. Changed plug (get's hot, engine quits, cheap try first)
2. Quit one day and would not restart. I finally traced to a loose wire (after I bumped it and it moved) on what appears to be a heat sink on the left side of the engine cover. Tightened screw and no problems since.

OP - kohler engines can be picky about what fuel filter is installed - best to install correct OEM filter called out in parts list - no aftermarket generic types...
