I'm a new member w/tractorbynet.com.
I own a CC GT2523 tractor I bought new back in 2004.
Never had a problem w/it up until now.
She is not charging the battery.
This is what I did to trouble shoot this problem.
Checked stator AC which is good 40-80 VAC @ just above idle to 3600 rpm.
I have battery voltage 12.3 VDC @ the B+ lead of the regulator when switch is on (run). B+ voltage will not increase @ 3600 RPMs. Instead E (voltage) slowly drops. I bought a new regulator for sixty smackers, installed it, and it did not fix this problem. Ouch!! What a waste of sixty dollars.
I noticed one thing w/the new regulator and original one they both have a short or very low resistance from A lead to B+ lead. This is only one side of the A leads to B+ lead. I guess this is normal because there is no AC leakage to the battery.
Any Ideas?
