hello to all,
This is my first time using this web site so please be patient. I recently bought a cub cadet 169 im having problems keeping the battery charged I taped all lose wires and changed the voltage regulator then today I was mowing for about a half hour and all the sudden it just died on me this happend before i changed the voltage regulator and now just happened again is there anyone out there that can help me out with this problem?? It seems like something's draining the battery but dont know where i should look thanks to all with input. Tim

Tim, you need a voltmeter to see if the generator/alternator is charging the battery. A good fully charged battery should read 12.6 volts with no load and with the engine running you should see 13.5 - 14.5 volts. Are you sure the battery is good and the cables are tight and not corroded. Generally if the alternator is charging the tractor will keep running even with a bad battery.

Tim, when you changed the regulator did you polarize the system?
