I have a 127 and it appears as if the clutch is slipping. I pulled it off and the bearing appears to be doing what it is supposed to do. I had a cub mechanic look at the clutch and he couldn't find anything wrong with it. I replaced the set screws and started it up...it still does the same thing. It gradually slows down when the clutch is engaged. I have a feeling it is a problem with the springs, but I'm not sure how they work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

When I say it gradually slows down, I mean it looks as if the clutch is not spinning at the same rate the shaft is.

If nothing is binding on the clutch release, generally only two things happen. The clutch disc with the friction material gets worn or the springs in the pressure plate get weak. The last clutch job I did was many many years ago on a car. I usually replaced the disc and pressure plate together and checked the flywheel surface for excess scoring or wear.
