gravelman here..pardon me if i asked about this before but..i have a Kubota 2650 600 hrs.. it is a 2016 hydro when i "think" im in neutral and set the brake...get out ofcab, the tractor starts to creep forward..all on its own. Obviously this is extremely dangerous. Any advice on what may cause that... have to fix pronto...thanks

Gravelman, have you checked for any debris that may have gotten in, under or around the HST treadle peddle and associated linkage? It doesn't take much to prevent the HST peddle from fully returning to its neutral position. That can cause creep.

Forward and reverse do this, or just one direction?

Let's not forget that the hydro pedal pivot must be well-greased to allow it to return to the "neutral" position.

Good Luck!

all good comments...i have thoroughly checked for debris...none...i have greased and lubed everything. I can actually walk away from the machine 10 feet and see and hear it start to lunge forward...have not seen it go backwards. It is usually always when i have been driving forward and stopped. It also does this with force as the bucket has dug into the ground. Think of what could happen if someone was in front of this hooking up a chain or something. I really feel it must be in the valving etc??

Not sure what your linkage and system looks like, but it sounds as tough whatever is supposed to return the pedal to neutral is not working. You say it usually happens when you have been driving forward and then stop. Does it still happen of you back up a few inches before setting the brake and hopping off the tractor?

My pedal occasionally sticks slightly - usually the only indication is that I can hear it straining against the brake. If I go tap the pedal backwards a bit (I have one pedal that rocks forward and back, rather than 2 separate pedals) it will go all the way to neutral and stop straining.

i fully understand what you are saying. Mine is the same as your..i peddle on a rocker..front and back. It has not done it in reverse and when it does happen.. the machine sounds and appears to be in neutral. There is no straining noise whatsoever. THEN without warning..it starts straining to go forward.. it scared the heck out of me the first time it did it..

Let me get this straight: You set the brake, the tractor is stopped, you get out, and then it begins to creep forward after a few seconds? Every time or just every once in a while?

The unexplained issue I'm having with my 2650 is whenever I have the pto lever set to rear or rear/mid pto, the rear pto shaft spins without the pto being engaged. It can be stopped by grabbing it and barely spins my rototiller and auger and is easily stopped by holding the pto shaft of either. When on the mid pto only, the rear pto is locked. Looking at the shop manual, I can't find what the problem is. My Kubota service manager has never heard of it happening.

i have never heard of that pto problem...can't help you on that. Yes, i set the brake..tractor is running at an idle and within a few seconds or even a minute..it starts to creep forward with force. NOT every time...that is the scary part...you never know when.. so i have been shutting it down before doing any chaining or stuff like that out front.
