Hey Eddie,
Looking Great! Skip the OSB and strap the roof and shingle it. The look from the bottom side will be awesome. Its old school and works. And a complimentary metal for the copula would be lead coated copper it patina's to a beautiful grey.
Keep up the great work.

What does strap the roof mean? Purlins? I know some older homes just had 1x4's every four inches with shingles nailed the 1x4's and no tar paper or anything else to keep out water.
If that's what you are referring to, I'm not sure I'd get any strength out of it like I will with the OSB. Gazebo's are a poor design for structure and I want everything I can get to lock it all together. OSB will stiffen up the roof and give me a lot of strength.
Eddie you are right about the 1 x 4's that is what I was referring to. The strapping will give strength and as long as you double row nail the shingles and lap the seams it will be great. Another option would be to sheath it with 3/8" x 1" cedar like a canoe. I just don't find OSB to be nice to look at through the framing. I'm sure that what ever you do it will be EPIC!
I'm putting in a wood ceiling so rafters and sheething wont be visible. Because of the curves in the roof, I planned on using two layers of 1/4 OSB from the beginning and spaced my rafters on 16 inch centers for added strength. I don't know of anything else that I can bend to fit. I tried plywood, but it just snaps on me, or it's too thick to bend. The OSB seems to be working pretty good so far.
I'm shooting for more of an organic look. Something that grew out of the ground there and is part of the natural setting around it. Hopefully the cedar shingles add to that look.
The cedar shingles came in from Lowes quicker then expected. I ordered 75 bundles. Nine bundles are supposed to equal a square with 7 inches of shingle exposed. I figured that I need around 6 squares, but waste is going to be quite a bit because of my angles and curves, so maybe I got it right. LOL
Every day after work I say I'm going to get a little done on it, and every day, I do other things that need to get done so I wont have to do them on the weekend. Mowing, fixing something around the house, helping Karen with one of her projects, helping my parents or something for work.
