Can anybody help me out with a part # on a JD 2240 Rear crank seal installer tool, Would really appreciate.

According to my JD tech manual correct tool depends on part # of seal Tool # JD 272 or JD 297.

Rear Main Seal Installer Tool JT30040B fits J D 202 219 239 329 359 414 Engine | eBay

Tool doesn't appear to be very easy to reproduce unless one has access to a machine shop

I ordered one online that was for my part # , And the pilot part wouldn't bolt to the crank.

Called John Deere on that tool the part # they gave me is JDE -140 . Can't find anything with that number, does your book supercede a number.

what tool did you end up using? I am having the same problem finding the correct one to install a DZ111672 rear crankshaft seal.

I ordered mine from Tillman tools and it worked well.
