I was wondering what y'all used to keep your cowboy boots from falling over? I was hanging mine but that is causing friction with my Bride who needs more closet space.
Anyone got anything that works good for keeping them from falling over while sitting?

Try standing in them instead of sitting so much? :)

Try kicking them off in the corner. :p They can't fall over if they are layin about.
Actually your boots must have a very soft upper ?

stuff a pool noodle in them

perhaps this is a question for the Texans ? per capita they probably have the most cowboy boots ... I only have 2 pairs (one nice pair, one well used yard pair)

I know that a 'good' equestrian shop/saddlery has spring-loaded, long-boot inserts. They're like a shoe-tree but for the shaft of the boot.

Googling "long-boot inserts" brings up some examples, perhaps "cowboy boot inserts" would do the same in your area?

Well, fall over might to the wrong words, but I would like them not to wrinkle at the lower end of the shaft. I quit buying Acme boots back in the late 70's when a shoe salesman gave me (in writing) a one year guarantee of a pair of Tony Lama's. I was going through a set of soles in 6 months, and by the time the second sole wore out, the uppers weren't worth putting soles on. I still have that pair of bull hide Tony Lama boots, and they are still wearable (but not to Church)
Natoma and Lucchese are the others.

I failed to mention that it is the shaft of the boot that I want to support, so that it doesn't fall over, or buckle the boot just above my ankle. Some of y'all understood what I meant, but wanted to clarify my original post.

My opinion: That just looks like normal broken in boots. That wrinkle is from wearing them, not them sitting in the closet. As your ankle moves that portion of the boot flexes. Also, sitting with feet kind of back with weight on your toes adds to it. Your pants aught to cover that area unless sitting.

I've got Tony Lama fancy boots, Twisted X, Red Wing, and Ariat. They all do it.

That's just normal. Actually not quite as wrinkled as some Lucchese and Redwing boots I have.

Cowboys wear longer pants. So they don't look like they are ready to wade into some high water
Get some cowboy length pants and nobody will ever see it. Google cowboy stacked jeans

I think those are called Capris

I could never get a pair of cowboy boots that my fat foot ever felt comfortable in.

Assuming you mentioned this due to my jeans being up where the shaft of the boots are visible. I was holding my jeans up to where the boots could be seen for the picture. My jeans typically cover down to the heel or lower on the rear of the boot.

Those are pretty fancy boots. I'd not want them to wrinkle either but i don't normally wear cowboy boots anymore.
Thanks!
. These are on the lower end of the high cost boot market! While I like a nice pair of boots, I am too cheap to pay thousands of dollars for them!

My friend, that is just normal wear because of one's ankle . . . That's when I consider them broke in and comfortable. ;)
