We bought land and built a horse farm 15 yrs ago out in the woods.
I spent the last 10 yrs of my working career in state law enforcement & have seen enough
of what today’s Woke Society has created.

There are, as I’ve discovered, half
a dozen or so of us retired hired guns living out here in a 10 mile radius (Not quite sure how that happened as none of us knew of each other) but as things have turned out we’re sure glad we’re all out here. Elsewhere could’ve been a whole lot worse.

We “might” get to town once a week or two and are, all is us, happy as we can be to be out here loving in peace. Where there was none before out in the top of the spear, there is plenty now. Life is good and more “Seat Time” is prescribed.

Keep your powder dry and your EDC at the ready.
Carry on! There’s nothing to see here.

In what we call the Melbourne zone we are in complete lockdown, I have been stuck at home for the past 3 weeks and a bit and looking a bit ragged, I have a full beard that grows rather quickly and generally go for a trim every fortnight, all barbers are closed so I decide that it is time to have a go myself.

Hang in there ... normal life will soon return. Tonight, Sunday August 23 at 6:00 PM ET the USA president will announce a "major breakthrough coronavirus therapeutic". Light at the end of the tunnel.

1. Pull out rechargeable clippers and fit what they call a 7-9 comb, what these numbers mean I have no idea but it cuts to about what the barber calls a number 3, quite short but neat.
Switch on clippers and it shows 100% charge so proceed with a cut from middle of chin up to bottom of left ear, great, works a treat, now go from middle of chin to bottom of right ear, hit lip so manage a little detour around it and halfway up to the ear and the clippers stop dead, look at display, 0% charge.
Lesson 1. Don't trust the screen, it lies and I am left with what looks like a square root symbol on my face.
2. Put on 'fast charger'
Lesson 2. Fast charge is two hours and expecting company sometime.
3. Company doesn't turn up and clippers charged so back to the beauty (?) parlour and continue, clip away for about 10 minutes and wind up with a pile of beard that is about the size of a polo ball when compressed, dog thinks it is fun to pull to pieces and spread around.
Lesson 3. Dog stays outside when beard trimming.
4. Finish the job and feeling quite pleased with myself until wife arrives home and looks at me in absolute horror, says I look like a deranged bear with mange, goes to get camera until I threaten her with unspeakable acts of violence, she backs down and finishes the job for me giggling non stop throughout the performance.
Lesson 4. I will never make a barber.
Do not try this at home.

Ha, you sure know how to have fun. :D

I've done the cordless clipper running out of juice route. I found you can get an extension cord, plug the charger in and attach to clippers, presto chango, corded clippers.

I tried the haircut with clippers one time. Got part way thru, when my wife walks in, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!" Apparently my attempts were not to her liking. Took her 20 minutes to make it less bad.

To those of you who get COVID, my prayer for you is that your recovery is as quick as mine was.

My BIL got it, has O negative blood - no symptoms. Do you have O negative also?

My mom's friend (about my age) hadn't called for a while, then she did. She and her husband had Covid and were sick. She had horrible diarrhea for about 5 days and 104F temp while the husband's temp went to 107F. They were always being careful wearing masks but they pulled them when the daughter visited. Guess who gave it to Ma and Pa? Daughter works at a farm type store and had no symptoms but gave it to them. Everyone I know is still being VERY careful, wearing masks, and limiting exposure.

Sturgis fallout?

South Dakota's numbers started climbing higher Aug 18 and Sturgis ended Aug 16. so it could be it was caused by community spread.
