Spreader Cover for broadcast spreader??

I purchased a farm star cone type broadcast speader (looks like a cosmo spreader to me) and would like to know where I can get a cover for it. The diameter of the top rim is 39 1/4". I've seen a cover for Land Pride spreaders but not quite sure if it'll fit mine.

Look in the yellow pages of the phone book under "sheet metal work". Any one of those business will have the ability to make a lid for you that will fit. If they can't, they will know who can. I have made similar things in my dads hobby shop in about 15 minutes. Add a can of spray paint and your ready to go.

If it were me I would cut one circle out of 1/2 marine grade plywood larger than the top using a saber saw. And cut a second ring that snugly fits into the top. Then screw them both together give them a coat of paint and you're in business.

Not sure if you're wanting a rigid cover or canvas type. An uphostery shop that makes boat covers could make the canvas (drawstring or elastic)

Another thought on the rigid. How about making it from (clear) plexi-glass? That way, even with it covered and closed, you could see how much material you still have in it.

I was thinking of just using a round trash can lid, but I like the clear plexi lid idea!~ That's slick. good one
