JJ- you shouldn't take this personally- and don't vacate!
Those of us who know next to nothing about hydraulics, yet depend on them when we use our tractors, probably learn a lot from your explanations. If someone with your experience were to offer a Sat. workshop on basic hydraulics around here, I sign up in a heartbeat.

No sir, not at all.

Just wondering why you don't want to use the engines potential and a matching pump to get the most out of the setup.

You can always reduce engine rpm and decrease response time.

If you don't want my help on any of this, I will vacate this thread.

Never mind.... I'll do my research elsewhere....

20HP2N, what you are trying to do i think isn't doable, the weight of the flywheel would need be high to keep enough kinetic energy to over come the pump load, the main problem is that you can't determine what length of time would require were the flywheel would be needed?? if only a few seconds then it's not a problem but if you need 30 seconds of boost, then we hit a wall. still makes me think ,what if???
try this site, some of these people are a little off center (SOME A LOT) and some really like to think way outside the box... Fluid Power Forums
will be keeping an eye on this one, nice concept.. Jim
