Tough, this is a Kubota forum and not intended for your rehashig of WWII, my dad's brother died in that war as did many others--it has no impact on my tractor purchase /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. I trust Kubota a lot more than someone I have never heard off. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
Thanks for your imput but baloney /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Here we go with another Kubota hate thread. I don't know about you guys but I really get tired of the Kubota bashing, let me just say it--is this some form of racism /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif because rarely do threads in the JD, NH, whatever go into WWII history despite the fact that much of their respective product lines are outsourced to Axis powers both in Asia and Europe. Racism, xenophobia, whatever. There are way too many of us that don't understand that things just change. As in the environmental issues. Local chemical companies used to dump awful chemicals in a near by creek. Sometimes one could hardly breathe from the fumes that engulfed the neighborhood for that dumping. New laws forbade the dumping and things got better. Should we who were involved now bash the chemical company for doing what was allowed then? Maybe not a good analogy, but still bashing anything Japanese because of what happened in WWII is no more than a dumb exercise in futility. Bashing any tractor brand because of it's componets which may have been made in another country is too, since most all tractors and automobiles for that matter have foreign-made products in them. Forgiveness of others' disgressions is not always a strong suite here in the good ole USA, but it still works for me to keep me content and satisfied that I don't hold a grudge. If one has that attitude of hatred, I would imagine that there is no country or person that could no be included in the hate at one time or another in history, including the USA. John

I did not bash Kubota. I do bash JapanenseCorparte though.
Sorry if I Offended anyone. The shame of it is most Japanense business and quality principals were taught by an American after WWII. They have done well.

In these times, with the advent of QS 9000 and ISO standards, every company has a mission statement. I just wonder what percentage of corporations live up to their mission statement. I'd be willing to be it is a very small percentage.

It's just PR. It satisfies the the QS auditors. It's like SOP's. Very few companies adhere to them on a 100% basis. If you did, you'd be out of business.

In day-to-day operations it's not monetarily feasible to adhere to your mission statement or QS/ISO standards. There are way to many variables involved. QS/ISO really boils down to bureaucratic bs.

I keep waiting for this site to get it's QS/ISO certification. About everything else is. Maybe I should go in the flag/banner business. I see numerous flags and banners on buildings proclaiming QS/ISO compliance.

The companies I am familiar with that have those banners have changed very little about the way they do business. That is, other than getting their certification and flying the banner/flag. Lets see, you have a mission statement, corporate philosophy statement, ecology statement, quality statement and the pay check statement. The last one is the only one that's important to me.

I remember when I was a kid, Ivory had a commercial/trademark that it was "99/44 one hundreths percent" pure soap. Well, QS/ISO is 99/44 one hundreths percent crap.

Hey, Mike, that's just not true. Sure, there are some radical environmentalists around

JCA,

You are right, I should have said radical instead of American, mostly because there is no political boundaries when it comes to radicals. Seems like the only voices heard are the voices of radicals...regardless of cause. I too, want clean air and water, Green forest and pristine deserts, but I also don't want to pay $10 a gallon for gasoline so a caribou doesn't have to walk around an oil derrick. Humans do need to be responsible with the environment, but common sense is the answer.

If my failin memory serves me correctly I recall all those Mission Misstatements and standards compliancy seemed to involve great realms of what is termed " paper " but can't recall any positive workplace equipment improvement.

Egon:

One thing that came about with QS/ISO was a spin off business. Corporate paper shredding and document destruction.

Now, there are guys driving around in straight trucks with shredders inside. They come to your business and shred all your documents, you know, the ones that might leave a paper trail to your dirty dealings or your non compliance to QS/ISO.

Sounds like more junk for the over burdened landfills. I thought it would be a better idea to take all the shredded paper and use it for between the wall insulation. That would be a "secure" disposal I think???

Perhaps we should take a hint from Several other threads and return to Tractors and trucks to move them around with.

In fact I should be out mounting the rear blade and cutting some steel so proper gauge wheels can get welded on to the blade.
