Just came across this on the main Kubota Web site--not the U.S. one. It's the Kubota corporate "message"...their philosophy.

( We strive through the creation of products to enhance humankind's coexistence with its natural environment. In doing so, we contribute to the future of humanity, the future of society, and the future of the earth itself. This is the fundamental concept at work behind all of Kubota's business activities. In the five business fields closely related to people's lives and cultures- namely the fields of water, soil, environment, cities, and housing-Kubota has always responded to the changing demands of the times and promoted the development of advanced technologies and manufactured products to provide people with comfortable lifestyles. Through our activities we are energetically pursuing ways to enhance the richness and beauty of all countries and restore the world to full health. From this point on, without deviating from these ideals, we aim to further contribute to the creation and preservation of a comfortable living environment through all of our business activities. Furthermore, we intend to further grow as an environmentally creative enterprise by expanding our operations in these five business fields. )

Thought that was interesting.

Sounds a little Zen like to me.

Wow! At least they have a philosophy. The only thing I have heard from most U.S. Companies is, "Be glad you have a job."

I don't envy whoever got the job of translating that from Japanese into
marketing English. Similar ramblings of the company's views concerning
its part in the facilitation of humanity can be found on the back page or
so of your owner's manual.

Ahh- It all translates to bufflegub.

Now if the cost of the bufflegub could be eliminated and result in a more affordable tractor but dream on ehh!

Most companies have a Mission Statement--that would translate to a corporate philosophy. It is kinda an over arching grandiose statement that provides a general direction for a company to move towards. These statements are important for stock holders, management and employees and CUSTOMERS----when these four groups are satisfied a company is mostly likely successful at making a profit and generating cash flow. The mission statement is a feel good item. A cost of doing business. Rarely do such statements reflect the average person's general impression of the corporation. But the lofty nature of them provides great PR.

AMEN! Although I'm not so sure it's even good PR.

A better mission statement would be: "The customer always comes first, because without them, we do not exist."
