You can tell I don't have any kids at home, never heard of either...

I am sure you have heard of some of these "challenges". Like the Tide pod challenge and the toilet seat licking Corona Virus challenge. And the knock out game and lots more things like that. Many/most of these "challenges" may be fairly harmless, but some of them are not. For instance the knock out game and the little hateful "jumping challenge" where you knock the legs out from under the jumping kid and let his skull crash to a hard floor. All of these idiotic and hurtful, destructive things originate on these sites. Kids laugh and get pleasure when other kids hurt themselves and/or others. And I am not kidding.

I have facebook but only belong to two closed groups so not subject to the mind numbing drivel that breeds in the shallow end of the gene pool.
A good means of communication between about 40 of us who can't go out for lunch at the moment.

I cannot keep up with all the posts in this thread..... did anyone see the video of making COVID masks out of one cup of your wifes old bras? It may be a loose fit for those of you lucky enough to have to make them from a DDD.

Good to hear from you Cam!

Have you North Islanders shut out those South Islanders? (or vice versa?)

Yes ferries stopped running last week. there was a bit of a scramble to get all those traveling in their motorhomes back to their own island. Air NZ has stopped all flights except AK WN CH DN and Nelson. Here's our good news story from today:
How does NZ's Covid-19 response stack up?

Well, glad I'm missing that. Also glad I'm 61 and a dinosaur.

I think all our State borders are closed, public transport reduced to an absolute minimum not that anyone was using it much since the outbreak, not allowed off our own property except for shopping, work, medical, all restaurants, pubs etc shut, a $1650.00 fine if you get caught away from your property, more if you are in quarantine, I think it is about $10k.

Report from FORTRESS TASMANIA (Wed. 8th Apr @ 1207): All's well, although we've had another death in the State which brings us up to 3. All 3 were elderly folks who had returned from the cruise ship RUBY PRINCESS. I believe that the Australian death count has just reached 50. There're no 'cases' in the Shire and I haven't been 'called up' as a Reservist to assist the local constabulary.

Just returned from my weekly trip into St Helens for mail & groceries. Everyone still has a smile on their face, Petrol is sloooooowly coming down in price but, living on an island, we've always paid more than on the mainland. We're not having to queue to get into the supermarket, just practice 'distancing' = at least we're being treated as adults. Very few shortages that I could see, plenty of TP and I got everything on my weekly shopping list.

Local 'handyman' came out to the property, "Wagtail Park", to perform a chimney sweep (I'm not allowed to go onto my roof due to a buggered up knee) and also fixed some holes in the roof that I didn't know about. (so that's where that rainwater was coming from!)

Stay safe out there mate. You guys are doing good. We have 7 in the county infected and 1 death. I was reported that the 1 guy that died (70 year old with lots of issues) maybe infected 50 to 100 people. We don't know of course. He was checked in to the hospital for other issues and someone decided to test him for Covid-19. Whoops. he had it and they found that out after he had died. Apparently Covid-19 procedures were not followed. Or so the news reports said. I don't know if that is true or not.
