Are you sure that is what she was doing? Can you sleep with one eye open from now on?

Hmm. A disease specialist (Dr Stephen Smith) tonite said that Diabetes is one of the highest risk factor. Diabetics and pre-diabetics with a high Body Mass Index have the greatest chance of going on the vent.

Well, well.. Not only do I have Diabetes, and I don't know what my BMI is, but I am pretty porky. Oh, I have respiratory issues too. I am a goner....

You must be careful.

Start working on your issues NOW! While you have time.

losing weight is easy, on a respirator.

I am late to the thread. I am currently out of state working. Didn稚 want to go but didn稚 really have a choice. Been here ten days and have about twelve left. Crazy times for sure. Where I am at things are not bad yet. My hometown has over 100 cases and the entire county we are working in only has 1 so I guess that is a good thing. Other than restaurants closed and no toilet paper in the stores things are really quite normal here. I just hope we can finish and get home before things get worse because I know it is coming.

I started reading and worrying about this virus back in January before most people even heard about it. I hoped it wouldn稚 spread but had a hunch this might happen. I don稚 know if fascinated is the right word but I have always followed things like this, Ebola, etc.

Anyway I find it interesting how different people are reacting. I wash my hands more but other than that pretty much just life as normal. I believe virtually everyone is going to be exposed at some point and while I don稚 want it I am not going to go to extreme measures to avoid it. There is no hospital overload here or at home yet so if I am going to get it sooner rather than later might be better. If I was in New York it would be a different story.

Our state department US of A has told all Americans to evacuate your homeland.

You can check it out but I think USA just ordered all cruise ships to stay at sea currently.

I will be the fat guy with thinning white hair on the right side of the "gate" :)

I assume you mean right side of the gate vs wrong side of the gate  Not right side of the gate vs left side of the gate.

You take care and stay home. My wife and I are practicing STRICT stay home policy, with only very, very minimal trips to get groceries.

Not the OP but I can tell you I ordered TP from Amazon and it arrived in under a week. A 30 roll carton, $21 with free Prime shipping.

My family was getting anxious. Another week and they would have been real anxious ...

I have lost 10 lbs...Still need to lose 20 more. Saw the same report on Fox.

Love food and booze...love life more.

BTW, the big difference is not eating out....besides losing weight, my credit card bill is down $600.

Oh great. Glad I haven't gone there shopping for a while.

Nearly a third of the County's coronavirus cases are connected to churches, a discovery this week that has prompted alarmed county officials to issue a special plea for congregations to stop holding services and prayer groups.

more than 100 of the county's 314 cases of coronavirus infections are connected to church groups.

That includes 24 infections spread among one church whose congregants have continued to hold in-person fellowship meetings during the growing pandemic.

Similar sad stories everywhere. A friend with contacts in Ecuador said Guayaquil (seaport at approximately the westernmost point of South America) has bodies lined along streets because the ambulance, funeral, and cemetery businesses can't legally proceed without a Coroner's death certificate - while nobody from government or from those businesses can be found. That whole province is shut down, and has been sealed off from the rest of the country to prevent spread of the covid-19 epidemic there.

I read a similar story from Italy, an ice rink as a temporary morgue.

Have friends with lots of family there... they are devastated.

China seizes Covid-19 advantage in South China Sea - Asia Times

This is why the carrier with a sick crew concerns me today.

I am going to spend more time watching the China Sea activities going forward than counting filled body bags being moved by fork lifts in the USA.

Starting to make sense. It is unlikely the Captain of the carrier leaked his letter requesting help....he knows if he did that, he would be relieved of command. So who leaked it?

That carrier is the point of the spear for US naval presence in the western Pacific.

Interesting times....

I read this occurred before the order for the military to stop giving out COVID-19 numbers to the public. Yes we need that carrier if today China is working to gain control of a larger area of South China Sea area due to its oil and minerals. COVID-19 is not the only hot plate being juggled for a few at the top today. It will be interesting if they try to re-crew the ship to get it active ASAP.

Coast Guard: Cruise ships must stay at sea with sick onboard

U.S. News
Coast Guard: Cruise ships must stay at sea with sick onboard
By FREIDA FRISARO and ADRIANA GOMEZ LICON
yesterday

"FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard has directed cruise ships to prepare to treat any sick passengers and crew on board while being sequestered “indefinitely” offshore during the coronavirus pandemic."

This is the article that I mentioned earlier in the thread.
