I'm looking at it from the other side of the coin. Hospitals here are getting overwhelmed with Covid patients, and around 90% of those are unvaccinated. Meanwhile doctors are being told to put surgeries on hold because there aren't enough support personnel.
It's my understanding that vaccinations don't stop the disease; but they do lessen the severity.
The other question is how many of those unvaccinated have either had 1 jab or are less than 14 days after their second jab. Because those also get counted as unvaccinated.

Our hospital released those numbers at one time and it was a very small number. I think the numbers of admitted patients were something like 85% unvaccinated, 5% partially vaccinated, and 10% vaccinated

Interesting article on the so-called vaccine.

Well that's putting it all in a nutshell. ("Vaccines, you're fired!")

btw, When we hear of vaccinated folks still getting Covid symptoms IMO it's too easy to hang the bird on the meds. Do those numbers include how many were in there 30s or 50s, had hereditary or age-related afflictions, etc. Is everyone exposed presumed to be in excellent health, well nourished, not taking any meds, getting healthy exercise.. keeping BP, weight & cholesterol in check w/no stress or side effects ever ...?

I have lost all trust in the "experts" on this. The "science and data" have been manipulated and corrupted.

I have both shots...not sure I will take the booster.

Follow the money....the drug companies are making billions on this.

Any power not granted is reserved for the people.

If you are referring to the 10th Amendment, the actual text is:

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

So if that is what you’re referring to, there is no prohibition on that basis.

Also any valid "law" has to be passed by the legislature before it gets to the governor.

The bill number was S7919:

Of course, we should honor any valid medical or religious exemption. Valid to mean by your current doctor treating your condition and any religion that has publicly stated its validity. Internet practitioners offering exemption in exchange for contribution/donation/fee not acceptable.
Along those lines the exemption should be based on PREVIOUS and ESTABLISHED religious/medical connections/conditions.
To many people can all of a sudden develop bone spurs.

Lies, damned lies, and statistics
Describe what the situation was in Mississippi. People would go into the hospital ICU and be put on ventilators, their relative would describe their inability to breath. Death would be listed as anything but C-19.
ICU beds were often negative. And that's one stat that doesn't lie.

If I'm traveling on a long road trip and need to stay overnight and there are NO hotel beds available it's a pain to sleep in the car. But I'll probably live if I park in a safe area.

My lovely wife had two strokes in the spring of 2009, the second nearly fatal. For about a week in the excellent ICU she could barely move her right side. She's fully recovered. But after about 4 days in the ICU they were talking to me about funeral plans. I don't want to be in the situation where there is no room at the ICU if I can plan around it.

The New York Times has a report/webpage showing ICU beds available. linky
In my area in Northern Virginia at Inova Alexandria and Mount Vernon Hospitals (the two hospitals nearest me) they are reporting I.C.U. occupancy at 57% and 70% with 30 beds available, 33 beds occupied by Covid cases. In my area of Mississippi, Tupelo, they are reporting 34 beds total, 0 available. There is no room at the ICU. Reportedly all occupied by Covid cases.

I really don't care much if those beds are occupied by stroke victims or Covid victims, but if we can't get in we can't get in. Sleeping in the car is NOT an option.

The whole bloody thing is such a mess; how in the world can we not know after almost two years what exactly Covid is? I have my two shots, it was no big deal; and I really don't care if someone else doesn't want shots. What I want is our lives back before Covid; when I could still buy a tractor and ammo, work at work and not at home, and go wherever the h ell I pleased. [[ Only government could screw this up so bad... ]]

Incorrect. It is the abuse of liberty practiced by anti vaxxers that is screwing this up.

It’s too bad their aren’t more investigative journalists interested in pursuing this. I think people would be shocked at the overwhelming emphasis on vaccination and the under emphasis on cheap, off the shelf meds.

Sigh...

If only people could understand the difference between a vaccine and an immunization.

I'd say, considering what the timeline is, we have done rather well in identification and corrective mitigations for a new virus.

Personal liberties no matter which way you side, are hard to account for, but in this day and age personal freedom has contributed to the demise of millions. As a society, the ramifications of that will be felt for generations.

And in my case now both my Daughter and Son in Law have tested positive,
and both were vaccinated. Plus they are both young in their early 30's.

edited to add;
30% of the new cases in my county have of vaccinated individuals.
and yes there is considerable manipulation of the bed availability and available resources.

   / COVID19 bull #35
@newbury There was also manipulation of the ICU beds. If a hospital had 40 beds they may of set 10 aside for Covid. When those 10 filled up they had no beds available.

   / COVID19 bull #36
What is potentially worse is that there is a developing body of evidence that those who previously had Covid and then get vaccinated may destroy their "N" protein recognition by doing so, ruining their previous nearly-perfect immunity. That we did not specifically prove that this did not happen before giving these shots to anyone with prior infection is outrageous. While the data on this is quite thin at present that there is a higher breakthrough rate in persons with prior infection than those who were infected but did not get vaccinated is what the data currently shows, which strongly implies that vaccination after infection actually screws you.

That is just great. I knew I should not have taken the jabs.

Thanks,
I expect they both will soon, they are young and healthy.
And the 3 year old doesn't even seem to fazed by it in the least, she tested positive last week.
No symptoms, no fussing, just happy and playing.

unrelated

i grew up in a city that had a street named beecher.

it had a meat market on it.

does beecher have a meat market?

@newbury There was also manipulation of the ICU beds. If a hospital had 40 beds they may of set 10 aside for Covid. When those 10 filled up they had no beds available.
This is not manipulation. Quite simply hospitals dont have the manpower to fill up the ICU with COVID patients and also treat every other health condition requiring intensive care. Many ICUs run at about 70% capacity anyway, that is good business. ICU staff are EXPENSIVE, and they need work to do. So most ICUs that are say 10 beds will try and keep 5-7 of those occupied at all times.

Keeping ourselves out of the ICU (if we can) frees up space and resources for all of those very sick non-COVID patients that need the care. The healthcare system has been severely strained over the past 18 months. To the point where quality of care has diminished, and people that need urgent (not emergency) treatment are being turned away. Think cancer patient with a tumor that has to wait a month for a bed to free up.... During surges this is what happens.

I really don't care about any other part of this except strain on the healthcare system...that's the threshold for all decisions. It should not be political.

@k0ua can you send me the link to N protein article. I would like to review the statistical method.
