I did that... but in a pool ;-)

I used to swim well over a mile daily when I was a lifeguard at a lake. ;)

My brother to this day says the best job he ever had was East Bay Park Lifeguard... mostly at the various lakes in summer.

He was 16 and loved every minute of it and did so all through college.

I lifeguarded at a small lake in a public park across the lake from where I grew up. I could swim to work, or row my boat, or ride my bike, or run, or car. Did that one for 3-4 years in high school and 1st year of college. Great job for a young person. I much preferred the lake to the public pools that I had to substitute at sometimes. Then I got a job at the man-made whitewater course here in town. That was exciting daily! Moving water is a whole nuther animal.

Actually the Japanese did. Things were developed in their famous 731 lab.
I am somewhat aware of the Japanese efforts but I am not aware they actually deployed any bio weapons against us... to my point. I think there were some attacks on China.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Interesting website I stumbled over...

Coronavirus Act Now

Gives various scenarios and estimates state by state how many they think will die depending on what level of social distancing, shelter in place etc is used.
Good website if it's true. No reason to doubt, just there are always deniers.

I totally agree, these markets should be in the trash bin of history.

I wonder if China knows COVID19 was not sourced from there and that is why they are opening them. There have been reports that it did not.

My opinion is that China did not shut down Wuhan because they had a flu outbreak. They must have believed it was a biological weapon that got out and it scared the crap out of them. It surprises me that we cannot confirm if is was a natural or engineered virus...or maybe that information is being suppressed.

OK that would make sense if that was the case and since this is a very old practice I am sure the powers do not need to ruffle these peoples feathers so to speak.

All the weapons that I know of, including the plague were deployed against Chinese. Of course China was our ally then. They did design and have a plan for deploying bio weapons against the west coast, but it was never done.

It sure feels that way... stick to your clan and then only those under your roof... be suspect of strangers... greet those knows from afar...

Everyday life such as weddings, funerals, youth organizations, sporting events, concerts, church, work, etc.. standing in line at the DMV, City Council, Flying, Carpool Lanes, Public Transportation, etc... may be profoundly impacted.

If everyone had a 2 month supply of stuff, there would be far less panic.

That's not prepping. That's life in the country.

In the city, I knew people who barely kept anything on a shelf. They went to a grocery store more than once a day in some cases to get food for the next meal.

Well that would certainly explain why they didn't want to have any news about it leak initially (Nov to mid Dec), then why they put on such a big public effort to work on it and now why their publicly reported numbers now look so low.

I knew very rich people who don't have a working flashlight in the house, and some in particular that demand that the systems in place serve them no matter what.

My lady friend had a contractor cordon off the playground in one of the condos she manages and immediately the residents complain!

Cuppla years back when the California drought was all the news, there was a story of an affluent community who was violating watering bans because they felt they should be able to buy all the water they could afford. Nothing could make them understand that there just wasn't enough water to go around.

I'm leaning that way too. I also believe our government knows more than we do on the subject when it comes to its origins.

There have been stories saying both theories have been 'proven'. One side says there has been no DNA of any kind found in samples 'proving' that it was manufactured. Other stories say essentially the opposite, that they have 'proof' it definitely was not man made.

I read....
that 1/2 of the people in the USA "eat out". That is, 50% of meals are from restaurants.
The restaurants are closed, those meals must now be purchase food from the grocery. Cisco business dropped to zero, the local grocery clients just doubled.
no wonder there is no Toilet paper, a family needs to eat!
