Who do you think owns the largest hog production and processing company in this country, it's not American.
A great many of our factories and foundrys when they got shutdown and or sold got taken off shore to sell pieces back to us.
Foreign governments and or corporations own or control a huge portion of our countries food and mineral production and processing,
as well as manufacturing.

He has the entire intel community he could have relied on, we now know briefings had been given claiming this was likely a SHTF black swan.

I worked with several people that had been in the steel industry in Pa. They said a factory would get sold, the Chinese would come in, take all the equipment, ship it to China, get trained on the equipment then sell everything they produced back to us. The factory owners/stockholders were happy, they got their $$, it's the American way. The factory workers got the unemployment line. Sell out to the highest bidder and the heck with the consequences.

From all the charts, links, and comments I see a light at the end of a tunnel. That tunnel is long, and our pace through it seems glacial. One item of preparedness I've always held to is to be able to calm myself and wait out things I can't do anything about.

The most 99% of us can do is self isolate, and for a time we can expect that to be for 14 days+ from any contagion or symptom. Those among us who have work/income interruptions may be hit harder as any who contract the disease.

Now we're waiting for the government to send whatever assistance comes along I'll be searching for someone to pass it along to. I'm far from needing aid of any kind and don't expect much, but most of my friends, neighbors, and acquaintances are working and have families. I have more than time to share to make lives better around me. Bet I'm not the only one who's thought of this. I know you guys too well.

We'll get through this nightmare but it'll take time. Make good use of yours as always, I hope you'll make the wait seem shorter.

I do think looking straight at the camera without reading and say our success depends on each and every one of us... children to the most senior of our citizens isolating and taking every precaution to whip this.

The attitude of having extra days off from work for play dates and trips to the beach... just not cutting it... and traveling.

Children from a very young age can really focus in on germs once taught... it really is amazing and sometimes even going overboard but getting everyone on the same page is crucial... just my 2 cents.

When I've had projects with kids, nephews, nieces, cousins I would always start with the premise everyone has a role... and it really works.

Medical side...

Bay Area employers have come through with MILLIONS OF N95 masks from company stock.

During the fires it was determined employers had to provide minimum N95 masks to employees expected to work... for several days at a time over several events the smoke was so thick here it was like living in a chimney... so the fires helped with preparedness.

New on N95 mask is medical reprocessing companies are now collecting used masks and reprocessing them... this is a first and represents a huge cultural shift from one time single use products...
