I didn稚 mean my comment as a criticism. Nobody can accurately estimate Coronavirus mortality yet. Even the widely quoted CDC data on annual influenza mortality for years past is just an estimate with a wide confidence interval of tens of thousands of cases. My point is simply that we just cannot tell what our mortality rate will be and importantly it is nearly impossible to accurately compare one country to another.

Ok, let go over this and you may or may not know these answers. What we don't know is how many people have this disease and never present themselves for testing. I doubt anyone knows this figure. BUT we do know how many people we have tested and from what I have seen the number of people tested that show symptoms something like 90 percent have something else not covid19. So lets say we have 1000 that test positive for covid 19 that is our nice round number for the following "guesses". I have seen it said that 80 percent of positives are turned away and let go back home to recuperate on their own as they are doing fairly well on their own. So we take 20% into hospitalizations. And please comment if any of these generalizations are way off. So 200 people into the hospital. Of that 200 about 25 (or so) percent need to go on the ventilator. So 50 people on the vent in ICU. Now this next part I have NEVER seen any figures and I hope you can enlighten us here. I THINK, but do not know that about 50 percent never come off of the vent alive. So 25 dead people out of your 1000 that were tested positive. We still don't know how may had the disease to begin with of course. If you could shed any light on these numbers that would be great doc.

H3ll... At this point it's apparent we don't know hardly anything. A family friend MD told us this will hit 80% of Americans before it is over. So... :confused3:

I think the regional differences are just different progress along that same curve, ie first/tenth/hundredth death occurs later in some of the more isolated areas. Seems to me those are areas where social isolation might be the most effective to protect the residents because they have a better forecast of what lies ahead for them.

And I know you will never acknowledge what I am saying is true, because having known you or your persona on this forum for these many years, I know this is not your way.

I am just saying what about 1/2 of the rest of us are thinking. Of course you have your supporters over here and had many more over on the "dark side" I kinda of miss your old "bogeyman" avatar and your "worst nightmare" and all of that because it truly fit you and told your story.
