I just got back from our local grocery store here, it was amazing.
No tp, no kleenex, no paper towels, then many of the food stuffs were low or out.
No flour, butter was almost bare, 1/2n1/2 was about empty, the cereal aisle was well picked over, no oatmeal.
I had napkins on my list and got the next to last pak of them.
Simply amazing about like the day before a snow storm times 10.

I can never remember; isn't the saying "Leaves of three, it's a tree"?

That’s “Leaves of three, let them be”. You really want to get that one right.

Reminds me of the Bubonic Plague but in modern times. What worries me is 2 things, one, there is no vaccine / immunization available and won't be for a while and two, if and when it mutates, will those that survive get it again?

Like the common flu, you can get a flu shot bit it's like 46% effective which means the majority of the time, it's isn't. If that applies to the Wuhan Flu, it will become the number one kill disease / virus in pretty short order and it's really brought this country to it's collective knees very quickly and has shown just how crazy, scared people can become...

You best it then you get it again and so on. Not good at all.

Heck of a population control tool I'd say.

Schools are on spring break next week in our area. They decided to extend spring break an additional week due to the virus.

I am sure this will work as everyone will stay at home with their kids for the next two weeks and not run to Walmart, Dairy Queen and such everyday......not

It is so ironic that the panic buyers most afraid of the spread of the virus immediately head for the big box stores where they know it will be MORE crowded than normal and they will have to spend MORE time in close proximity to others.

Meanwhile smaller local businesses owned by family, friends and neighbors who will typically have smaller concentrations of people will suffer and may not be able to economically survive.

I am all for saving money at the big box stores but they do not need our help. Your local vendors DO and they may not be around in the future when you really need them.

I know you are joking of course. People in general don't exhibit that much sense.

I saw one credible report that there is original Coronavirus plus one similar version evolved from it and both kinds were found in the same cluster of sick people. It's possible this might be like the flu of 1918 with waves of evolved versions. But that issue is simply an unknown at present.

Just heard that the school my son in law teaches at is closing for a month, teachers have to go in and try and provide online education,
trouble is that there are still many folk in this area that do not have hi speed internet. And many homes have no or minimal cell service.

And for those that really wish to panic read up on the history of the 1918 flu epidemic.
The first wave or cycle was very mild then the second round came in it could kill healthy young adults in hours.
