I was reading an interview with a canadian toilet paper company exec today. She said there is no shortage in their supply chain. They have plenty of raw materials. They're making plenty. They ship it out daily. It's hoarding at the stores.

Out here in God's country, there are plenty of shelled corn cobs laying around. You can use them to wipe with in a pinch....

Some good news, new cases and deaths are slowing down to a trickle in China. But it is raging like a wildfire in Europe, especially Italy.

I wonder how that will impact FCA. Remember Dodge Ram Chrysler is now Italian owned (FCA). Read somewhere that Italy is on a 100% lock down, true or false, I don't know.

In the little town I live close to (7 miles) we have 1 larger grocery store (Safeway) it is fully stocked with TP, of course they probably don't have as much a need for it in Portland 35-40 miles away they poop in the streets .

and in Seattle!!

Some of the things I get, but the run on toilet paper is dumbfounding.

Trees are budding out here, so soon we should be all set with leaves if we run out of TP

Well the dow futures are down over 1,000 again.
Mississippi announced we have 0 confirmed cases and have tested over 35 people.
No test, no problem.

We had long conversations about 85 year old hip replacements covered in USA routinely and not so much there

If I had a hip replacement, I would want a newer one than that! :D

Outside of the 20% or so that it hits hard health wise I do think the side effects will be the worst portion for most people.

IMO, the 6' that they say to stay away from someone possibly infected, is maybe if you're upwind.

We do experiments at work that involve these 3 areas of expertise...Laminar airflow, mist flow involving respirators, and we have a small, low speed clear wind tunnel.

IMO, if you are in a long hallway or corridor, depending on the HVAC design, and someone who has it sneezes or coughs, You are going to be breathing in some micro droplets. The micro droplets do not drop out of the air that fast. Think fog. It takes fog a while to dry/settle/disperse.

I talked to my mom and she said the vets home where dad is has been under a lock down but they have been letting her visit like she normally does everyday.

Correct.

I'm not concerned about the bug. At all.

I'm concerned about the idiots screwing everything up due to the hype and panic.

It is getting interesting... to say the least. Many here on TBN... I think... are fairly well self sufficient, at least for awhile. We are not as reliant on others as the general population. As such (stereotyping) our feelings on this virus tend to be less alarmist than maybe the norm. I think this is a good thing. I find it quite disconcerting that in this day and age that so many are influenced and dependent on what the sensationalist media (concerned about ratings) says. I hope I am not wrong in my assessment here!

All that said, I feel like there must be more to the story that isn't being told, making our governments to react as they have. This is not intended to be political, I just can't compute the data that is out there vs. the actions being taken. Why don't we broadcast statistics for the 'common flu' spreading each year like we are with COVID-19? What am I missing???

Things are sure happening fast... is there an unspoken concern to the general population beyond those already in 'bad shape'? At the end of this, will it be significant or just a blip on the annual mortality rates due to flu/virus? I hope it is a blip.

Local news here has a chart beside the Coronavirus chart showing comparisons between it and flu infections and deaths this season in US every night.

It's new. It's not like the flu. It spreads more rapidly. It overwhelms and has out run ways to contain and test for it.
