Core Aerator Plans?

OK, always a lurker here, posted a few times with projects, have heisted a bunch of ideas (thanks to all), and always look on Google and search threads here to try to find answers before I have to ask but on this one I'm stuck.

I want to build a core, or plug, aerator. Can get one new at Lowes for $317 and find a used one locally for around $200. I think I can build a better one for cheaper. Only thing I can not seem to find, and would be a P.I.T.A. for me to make would be the the actual core aerator thingies....the things that actually pull the plugs out of the ground.

Anyone have a source for these (kind of like I can get landscape rake tines or box blade teeth from Agri Supply)?

Duhhh...probably disregard. Revised my search critera and came up with this:

Could order those and build my own assembly but would really rather buy the assembly. Getting old and lazy....but not lazy enough to pay big money for something that can be built cheaper.

Anyway...any ideas about the assemblies would still be great.
