Update on my search, I drove out (260 miles) and tested the JD4120. The tractor works very well. (probably no surprise to those of you who have one).
But cosmetically is was a little rougher than what I thought it would be for the price that they are asking, so my search goes on.
Funny how this works I was in my truck driving back when my good friend called saying he just spotted a 4120 (close to home!!) and it looks pretty good. I talked to the dealer (priced thousands less than the one I just looked at) and he gave me the guys name that owned it. the former owner called last night telling me the reason he go rid of it was it has R1 Ag tires and since his business is tree service he needed turf tires to keep from leaving marks in his clients yards.Replacing the tires and wheels cost $2300 so he decided to get a tractor with turf tires on it. He commented on the only thing that he could say that was wrong with the JD4120 was the fuel tank when filled leaked, he was told by someone that there is a check valve that might need to be replaced. Anyone know about this???
Also if I buy this tractor I may consider changing out the R1 tires for R4 any one know f the rims are the same?
