Confused on the model numbers thinking of a T2310

Can any one tell me the difference between the Boomer 3040 and the T2310?

I am thinking of getting a 2008 T2310 with a 16LA loader does that compare to the 250TL loader in lifting capacity?

Why did they change the numbers so hard to keep track

I have a 1959 FORD 601 Workmaster completely restored that was my dad's now that I am considering trading in.

The Boomer 3040 is the new number for the 40 hp T2320. The T2310 was a 35 hp tractor similar to the previous TC35. Essentially the T2310 has been discontinued. It has been replaced with the Boomer 2035 which is a smaller tractor.

New Holland changed suppliers for their loaders. 16LA was the original number and 250TL is the new model designation from a new supplier.

Oh yes, the 16LA loader on a T2310 has less lift due only to the T2310 having 250 psi less hydraulic pressure from it's pump. Since the 250TL loader is on a Boomer 3040, it has more power because the Boomer's higher main hydraulic pump pressure. These are not limitations of the loader, but rather a difference in supplied hydraulic pressure from the tractors on which they are mounted.

Thank you for the information, from what I understood this is a 40 HP 35 at the PTO. Since it seems you know quite a bit about these models do you know what is the difference between the 16LA and the 17LA?

I believe the 17LA was for Supersteer units only.

Actually the T2310 is 40hp (old TC40D/DA) and the T2320 is the 45hp (old TC45D/DA). I think they only produced these model numbers for one year and then rolled to the new numbers. I own a T2320 and still call it a TC45DA

Any Idea why they keep changing the model numbers, if the tractor is the same? By the way are they the same?

I believe they changed the numbers in 2008ish when they introduced changes to the engines to meet the new emission standards. I have not been able to tell exactly what they changed in the engine, but i assume it was in the exhaust. They also made a few other changes to the seat, dash color, power port/plug for a phone. They also changed their logo, adding the yellow to it. I think they only kept this numbering scheme for one year because it made absolutely no sense. The numbering before and after indicating things like frame size/class, HP and transmission. I have owned my T2320 for 2 years and still have to look at the number, which is why I refer to it as a TC45DA, and most people know what that is.

It is a great tractor by the way. I have been extremely happy with mine. My favorite implement is the grapple. I have had my bucket on twice in two years. The grapple is just very convenient.

What Implements are you considering, or do you already have what you need? The grapple is one of my favorite implements and I use it all the time, mainly in the woods moving wood and removing brush. I had a canopy on my first tractor and really liked it, won't own another tractor without one. Chipper is great keeping the forest/brush cleaned up. If you have a field, you can find lot's of post on flail mowers, brush hogs and finish mowers. Flails are the most expensive, but depending on what you are using them for, can be a great choice.

You may want to think about adding them to the purchase, you can usually get a better price. It's just hard to have such a big bill all at once. When my wife said go get it, I wasn't sure when I would get back to that well

I already have several implements Sherman Pulverizer, Ford 72 inch box scraper, Ford Post hole digger 9 inch and 24 inch auger, Rhino SE6 brush cutter. I plan on doing some more landscaping and tree clearing plus mowing. I have 19 acres.

My bad. In looking at NH's site, I saw the 2310, 2320, and 2330 listed as a group and made the mistake of thinking the 2310 was the old TC35. Actually, I think when the model numbers changed, that's when the 3-cyl TC35 was discontinued in the Class III Boomers. The 2330 I believe is similar to the TC48.

Anyhow, you will no longer find a 35 hp tractor in this size tractor. However, if you want an economy tractor with 45 hp for a bit less than the Boomer 3040, look at the T1530. It is essentially the same tractor as the Boomer 3045 except in an economy package, and HST is an available option.
