Confused on the model numbers thinking of a T2310

he said mostly high but he made a disturbing comment and What he said was if you are mowing and it gets too tough for the hydro in high gear the tractor will just stop moving no matter how hard you push down on the pedal. Ha said then you just put it in low gear.

I am very surprised at what he said ( My experience has been with a gear tractor).

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Another thing to recognize about HST transmission's that is "counter intuitive" is -- the harder you push down on the pedal the faster the tractor will go - but the less power you have. If you want/need more power, you have to let off the pedal and go slower.

Generally, the tractor will spin out before the engine stalls or the HST goes to bypass (if the throttle is set high enough).

The OP's question's regarding pricing -- hinges greatly on what the value is for his Ford 601 and what options are present on each of the tractor's he's looking at.

The rear ballast box is ~$200. Rear SCV's? Power-beyond? Both tractor's have R4's? Motion match - cruise control? HD bucket's on FEL? Reversible cutting edge? Foldable ROP's? Seat armrest's? Grill-guard (2 styles)?

That said - goin' on "seat of the pants" and his trade-in is worth $5K then the JD is too high. I'd put the green tractor in the $20K range and that means the dealer is offering less than $2K for his Workmaster.

Can't really comment on the NH; 'cause I don't have any history with the "Blue line".

My $0.02.

Can any one tell me the difference between the Boomer 3040 and the T2310?

I am thinking of getting a 2008 T2310 with a 16LA loader does that compare to the 250TL loader in lifting capacity?

Why did they change the numbers so hard to keep track

I have a 1959 FORD 601 Workmaster completely restored that was my dad's now that I am considering trading in.

Is there any way to avoid trading in your dad's tractor?

I have basically room for one tractor in my 4 stall heated garage.

My dad's tractor is in real good condition, hard to let go, but many times I think the 4WD will outweigh the Ford. Since it is in such good condition I am shopping the dealers to see who is going to give me the best deal.

So far NH dealer is winning in that case.

Any one know how much a 2008 T2310 and a 16LA go for used with 250 hours? It would sure let me know how much the NH dealer is giving me on my Ford.

What is ironic is I found the specs on the loader that I have Wagner 150 (1500 LB capacity) it has a pretty powerful front PTO pump 12GPM.

When comparing hydraulics the JD and the NH the JD does have 12GPM and the NH only has 9.8GPM.

I noticed the slower response (on the FEL) compared to my 50 yr old Ford when running the NH at 1500 rpm. I have heard the old Ford tractors were ahead of their time (Actually it is the combination of the Tractor and the PTO Pump on the Wagner Loader).

I think the NH dealer is offering you about $3,500 to $4,000 trade-in for the 601 and that's a top price. I don't know if he can sell it for that much, even if it's pristine.
