Tractor
Kubota L 3560 HSTC, 805 Loader
My son-in-law (2nd one) is looking to buy a tractor / loader / snow-blower / rear mower to maintain his home (about 10 acres). He has been seriously considering a new Deere 2720, as he has a friend who owns one and has been able to operate it....and likes the size / power.

He also has a nearby Kubota dealer......and we were discussing what 'bota model to compare to the Deere. He'd like to shop one against the other as both are good brands (and the Deere dealer is not very aggressive). Model Advice?

Yeah, feature wise a B3030/3000 is about it as far as I can tell. Both are really nice tractors. You can do a comparison on the John Deere website.

Thanks for the info.....

After surfing around a bit more....I see some comparing the B2630. Is that similar to the B3030....except for HP?

Do these models have an improved 3 Point? I have read that many were unhappy with the control....but some models are improved.

( Man....those 'bota boys make allot of models. Phew! )

Very similar, but it is being discontinued, so you would have to locate a leftover, I have never seen one on the lot.

The 3PH problem to which you are referring is limited yo some models of the L3x00, no other models have problems.

Some might compare it to other B Series tractors, but they don't have extendable links, tilt steering and position control 3PH.

Yes, the 2630 and 3030 are probably most comparable to the 2720. The 2630 is virtually the same as the 3030, but with a little less HP and a three cylinder engine, versus the 3030's four cylinder. The JD 2720 is a beautiful tractor.... one I'd be happy to own. I think he'll find the JD dealers are less negotiable, or at least that is what I have found. Also, the Kubota will have a three range hydrostat, versus the John Deere's two range. One place the Kubota will shine though..... is the front mounted blower. Observe the plastic impeller on the John Deere, plus the lighter guage stell all around on the blower. RAD in Canada makes the blowers for Kubota, and they are very stout. If he is not concerned about the deluxe features, he may want to check out the Kubota B3200 also. Same HP range and wheelbase, but on a more basic tractor.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out; good news is you will have a good tractor either way you go.
