Compact Web Ring

Are there any compact tractor web rings? Or B7500 web rings? Or Kubota web rings? Now with all this ringing going on I can only say: Hello?

Also, I'm thinking of settin' up a Compact Tractor page: Just info for us'ns! Links to dealers, manufacturers, other compact owners, etc. No to compete against anything (check my site and you'll see I don't even do banners), just as another way to get us compact folkies a place to spin a (tire) few more minutes online.

22 hours on my B7500 and loving every minute of it, except of course when I have to really work. My only complaint is I should have bought it in the spring.

Don't know about a ring. I don't spend enough "web" time to justify it myself. Usually on some kind of mission.

Go for it on the website. Although I get most of my tractor fix here, and on Lucy (my B7500/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif).

How long have you had yours? We got ours in the spring. What a MAJOR work saver! We love Lucy! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I guess, like Alan, I don't know what a web ring is, and don't know how it would differ from this site. However, I've found that time is limiting what I can do on the net, so I've almost quit visiting any tractor sites other than this one.

Not to be discouraging, but I'm also with Bird, about the usefulness of another site.

TBN has a proven track record of usefulness, congeniality and broad experience-base of members, willing to help anyone, with any imaginable question. All this run by Muhammad, who is attentive and responsive to any problems or suggestions.

It is more than I can do to read all the posts HERE that might be of interest or practical use, ...I probably would not try to fit another one into my available time. To me, this comes under "If it aint broke, don't fix it."

Trying to be open-minded here, ...I've got a couple of questions.

Have you really looked around at the wealth of forums/threads, about nearly everything imaginable concerning "compact tractors" on THIS site?

If so, could you explain what it is that you find lacking, that you would like to have on another site ("web ring") ? /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Also, you answered the question about "How long have you had your...?". How about the" What is a web ring?" one?

A web ring is just like your wedding ring. Your so nuts about her (it) you want to make sure everyone knows about it. (She like wise and so you start a diary and photo album with pictures a a discription of every breath you take. ( start a personal web site), So you would like to meet the same type of wak heads (married folks) (tractor nuts) as you so you start meeting at the local coffee shop (tractorbynet.com) but your boring some of the people with all your newly wed (tractor BS) talk but not everyone. So the next time you come you bring your diary and pictures (baby {tractor}) toss them in the corner and one or two people look at them (because they have a baby) and you don't bore everyone. The ones that looked asked if they can bring their baby pictures (the ring has started) and before you know it there is a group of people meeting that aren't bored but if they really want more information about you and your baby, they can go to your personal diary/photo album (web site) and talk to you about the colour of you kids crap. Your glad to have someone look at your ugly kid so you put there phone number in the diary (link their web site to your) and before it everyone who love ugly baby pictures can easily find like minded people and ownly have to see/listen to all the boring detail if they want to.
Thats what a web ring is?

It doesn't, we sniff out those personal encounters and stay clear. If you get the drift.
But I do have an ex-friend who, at the old fart age of 47, I'm 48 myself) had his first child (by emaculate conception by the sounds of it and they have a web site of every gorey boring detail. I've been there once. Had to defrag the hard drive after.
Boy that was close.

A web ring is just a collection of web-sites that have an informal agreement that they have links to one another.

You can usually click on a link on the home page of any member site to go to the 'next in the ring' - eventually finding yourself back at the starting page again.

You can also usually jump to a random point in the web-ring -- but the idea is that it's supposed to have this circular nature.

... sitting here typing this while my 4 year old sits behind me and draws me pictures that will later go up on the notice-board in the kitchen. Different horses for different courses as the race-trainers say ...

Actually I agree with some of your sentiment. While I can appreciate the 4 yr. old artist's work penned up (but not the "color" photos), I know what you mean about "gory details".

Some people don't seem to realize that those close-ups of the actual birth of their child that they so proudly display, lose a little (lot of!) something when it's not YOURS. Some things are better kept private! /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

I think that is why the internet is so great. My wife calls this site CB radio on a computer. Breaker Breaker This in Big Ben up in the Cold Country.
When we were dating in the 70's CB radio was one way you could meet people outside your normal circle of friends much the way we all here have found each other due to the common interest of tractors.
One thing I've noticed is, for newbies like me, it sure helps talking/listening to everyone about their tractors, problems, ideas, solutions and there's nohing like the wit and excellent shots from the hip to break up the hum drum some days.
