No familiarity with that or any spreader. I did go to the website and looked at it. Isn't it odd that the description is short on real quantifiable characteristics? "Recommended for 1-5 stalls" doesn't translate well to cubic yards or pounds of capacity for me. The dimensions SOUND like it is fairly large, but my guess is they use the same measuring method office trailer rental places utilize - tip of the tongue to the extreme other end. The l-o-n-g tongue makes it sound BIG :)

My buddy has that spreader. With 2 horses it was an every day event to dump the spreader. Now, with 3 horses and a pony it gets dumped at least once a day.
I prefer Millcreek spreaders. I’ve had mine a really long time and last season I needed some parts. No problem. Buy used if possible, prices on new are

We have been using a Loyal manure spreader for 16 years. Pulled it behind the Mule for years, now behind the Kubota RTV-X. Holds 6-7 muck buckets of manure. Easy to maintain, grease it once a year and spray the chains. Did buy new tires last year due to weather cracks in the old ones starting to not hold air. A little bit of Slime solved that, so we now have spare tires.

I don't need big. The 350-HD holds around 10 5gallon buckets. I don't have my own livestock with manure to handle frequently and get aged manure for free from local folks by bringing my 5gal buckets and filling up with a shovel at my convenience. Yes, the length includes the tongue. I'm 71, living alone with arthritis and it's getting too painful trying to spread evenly by hand. It's also more time consuming by hand. I'm just using it for my large gardens. I also like that it's mostly stainless with no chains to maintain and repair. I grew up in this rural area of central New York State with family dairy farms (typically 50-100 cows) as neighbors. Now the farms are factory style (24/7 milking 1000+ cows) with no pastures or fences, big slurry pits, slurry sprayed every spring, etc. I am very familiar with older real manure spreaders but that isn't what I need.

Thanks for the Mill Creek link. They look nice but bigger than what I need and I assume more expensive.

Thanks. This looks like something that could work for me but it's larger which I don't need. It doesn't say it's made with stainless steel though which is a negative. The Newer 350-HD has flat-free tires which is a plus to me. I wish they had in stock at Tractor Supply so I could look at it.

I looked at the newer ones, but felt the old style (1940’s?) was better built and had better spreading ability. I found a guy that remodels old units, and got it for less than new ones. Mine is either pulled by my team or by the kawasaki mule, depending on how i feel. I do like making the horses spread their own waste though. i dont spread every day...i do it 2-3 times a year. i have a manure pile so it can compost before spreading.

Went to the web site for local dealer that handles spreaders. Currently they are out of stock. New batch of local politicians has bought up all his stock.

This was just too hard to pass up.........

Thanks. What issues did you have with it? What type of material were you trying to spread? What village or city are you closest to?

I'm looking for a small compact manure spreader like the Model 350-HD in this link. I will buy new or used but want to know if anyone has any experience with this one or recommendations for something similar. Shop Online - Small Manure Spreader | Newer Spreader
Hi. Yes i used one of these for a few years when i had a 6 stall barn. It worked great pulled it behind my 4 wheeler. I’m shocked at the orice though. That was 2017 and i paid $700 for it new. Maybe it was another brand perhaps. It was efficient and made well. Look for a used one maybe.

I think the issue I had was that I was trying to spread fresh manure. Too much hay mixed in and the manure was still moist so it would clump up and not spread. Found it easier, for me a least, just to pile it up and give it to a couple of my friends for their gardens.

I live just a little to the west of Hagerstown, in Sharpsburg. Right next door to Antietam battlefield.

Okay, I used to travel via Harrisville PA and Gettysburg to visit my daughter in Fairfax VA. Looks like staying on 81 at Harrisburg, instead of taking 15, will be the best choice. Sharpsburg is a round trip I could do in one day. If we disconnect the tongue, we should be able to load it in my RAV4. It's only 125Lb.
