I bought this planter a while back. I emailed Cole Planter and they said its a 1963 Cole Speed Planter, but they no longer have parts for it.And thats all the info I could get from them. My question is,are any of you folks familar with this planter and could possibly tell me where I might find the rubber packing wheels for it,or maybe what size I ask for? Also was there a fert attach for this planter? thanks EDDIE BUCK

Eddie, I may have the names back wards but think Cole was bought by Coverty (not sure that is spelled correctly). But they closed the Cole brand and product out and told me once they sold what stock they had it was GONE. Had no idea what they had even in stock. This was a year or more ago as I have four of their planters for corn and beans.

I found plates I needed on ebay as dealers closed or chose to sell off their stock. See if they can give you a list of dealerships who sold their product line and visit them. That I think is your best hope. They did have two different size planter plates. If you have an old independent or farmer based tractor dealership around would be my first place to visit. Check with salvage yards also. There are probably thousands of Cole planters in our area.

While I have Cole planters--now Coventry in Ohio--I do not have that model but I understand them in a generic sense. While I cannot see your photo well enough, I believe you have a standard rubber packer tire (10"?) that mounts to a two-half wheel that bolts together. That's the way mine are.
Other than that you will have to make whatever parts you need. It's not that hard.
While that model may not be made, I'll bet the gears and some parts may be interchangable with the 12MX planter that is still made (China).
No fertilizer attachment unless you make one or make a set of cultivators with a fertilzer hopper on them and culitvate/fertilize at the same time. I did that and if you search about a year back in my posts you can see photos of it.
If you are handy with machinery and can jerry-rig stuff, it an OK planter. If not, find something else.

Yea,Cole no longer has parts for that planter,I was hoping to find some part numbers and then check places like Agri Supply and TS and maybe run down the packerwheel that way.I will look at tractor junk yards and hopefully find one. I have plenty of plates the old horse drawn plates also work in this planter. Anyway thanks folks for your input, Eddie

Eddie, TSC and Agri Supply to me would be doubtful for parts. Check with old tractor implement dealers.
