Mowing cleaning mower deck

I read this forum allot iv'e seen alot of good advice on it i found out a good way of scraping the old grass and mud off of the underside of my deck as i was getting it ready for winter.
i was out in the shed and was too lazy to go to the garage and get my putty knife like i usually use so i looked around and the only thing i could find was a wonder bar for roofing so i tried it it worked great it gives you a nice handle to push on it is curved up so you dont scrape your knuckles it worked so well i figured i'd share it with you all anyone else have other good ways ?

I have also used a roofing bar with good success.
A small hand gardening shovel works well also.
If I use a scraping method (as opposed to the pressure washer which is always my preference), I do a quick pass with a wire brush to get the last of it off.

yes i also wire wheel it then i paint it probably dont need to paint it but i feel better after !

I assume you are talking about a finish mower or mmm. If so, do you scrape it as best you can free-standing or try and get it raised up on its side?
