FYI the post hole auger head has the ability to bread a 3/8'' link log chain (6600lb tensile strength) I was using the power head to rotate the log chain as I pulled a brake rotor through the culvert, was surprised when the link was broken into two pieces. After twenty years of not being cleaned the culvert is once again functional.

I have seen a 96 lb woman break a heavy leather belt with her bare hands, just twisted it in two. Wonder if it is the same principle?

So how'd you get the chain through the culvert in the first place? Sounds like a stick, a rope and maybe some muddy knees first. :)

close, 20' section of 2x2 steel tubing with chain attached to end shoved through the culvert with the 425, and yes I have the hydraulic powered head attachment for post hole drilling that pivots from vertical to horizontal working positions

Clever approach. I have a 24 ft x 18" corrugated steel culvert that has collected about 3" of crusher-run runoff from a driveway over time. Was trying to think how I might clean it out, but I think the stone is probably too heavy for that technique.
