I wonder if anybody ever falls for this stuff, when I first started looking at some of the internet sites I saw several of these and still do, I e-mailed on one and the man said it was in Colorado and he was being redeployed and so on and on, e-mailed him back and said I had friend who lived close by and he was going to pick it up for me, never heard back from that dude, shoot for that I would have drove to Col. snd picked it up myself.

Me, too, but I'm also surprised that anyone would fall for such a scam.

I'm not..and some folks do, I guess.

You've seen those guys get "The Fever" when it comes to buying a tractor...that lust clouds their judgement. Can't say I've had it with tractors, but I've sure had it with cars and women (back in my younger days).

The scammers send so many of these out, they profit even if a very small fraction of the population falls for their scams. Many of these come from overseas, off limits from US jurisdiction.

You betcha, classic scam. Those scammers have even found a way to intercept PayPal money and send it to their accounts so you think it is paypal when it really is not. They also use legitimate shippers as their carriers and if you check the web or phone number, the scammers will answer you back. Best way to avoid a scam is the old saying, If it sounds too good to be true, It probably isnt.

Using a device like Magic Jack they can have a phone number in just about any city in America of their choosing. You call thinking your calling a few states away yet the scammer is in another part of the world leading the caller on.

Hey, look on the bright side-- at least their vernacular American English is improving..... That one BroBro posted is one of the best I've ever seen!

That scam has so many red flags it isn't even funny.

1. Super cheap price.
2. Offering to pay for shipping.
3. Wants electronic payment.
4. States why they are selling.

Curiously, I tend to see a lot of people try to justify why they are selling something which always makes me suspicious. Even when it isn't a scam, it suggests that they are trying to something up.

Just think how awesome it would be if they would really sell me one of them for that price... Talk about a quick flip, buy the thing for 7.5k, sell it the next day for $55k. Too bad these are just piss poor people that are trying to make a living by taking from other people who are simply trying to make an honest living...

I have seen a number of these ads posted, often on Craigslist. A couple of years ago I actually replied to one inquiring as to the location, etc. All the other details were nearly identical; item already packed and ready to be shipped, owner overseas, you know the rest.

When he responded with the location of the item I replied again by exclaiming how lucky I was to have a sister who lives in the very town where the item was located. I went on to tell him that I would have her go over and check the item out. If it was as advertised, I would be happy to pay him the full price even though he wouldn't have to ship the item as it was such a great deal!!! Surprise, surprise he never replied again.

If I see these ads again I will reply in the same fashion. I think if enough people started messing with them like this they would move on to something else.
