I finally found all the stuff I needed to make a guard for the belly of my TC40D. Not to bad to make at all, I started with a piece of diamond plate 48" by 31" by 1/8" thick and added some 3/8" by 6" and 3/8 ' by 2" cross straps for support and for space to clear some stuff toward the rear. To attach it I used some 3/8" by 2" bent in a 90 to hook over the loader sub frame and 1/2" bolts to clamp it on.

Really cool! Nice job! I was changing oil on my TC45D today and looking at the subframe thinking of a skid plate. Yours is an inspiration. Do you have drawings?

I will try to draw something in my cad program in the next day or so and figure a way to post it

Sorry Jim. I drew up a couple of views in turbocad but no way of changing the file format to one that will post.

What about printing it, scanning it as a .gif and posting it?

Actually, your pictures are probably the best "pattern" since I would have to make final measurements anyhow. A photo of the attaching hardware by itself might also be helpful. You've actually done the hard work by proving that it can be done. I'll just save your photos until I get a chance to build my own. Thanks /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Here is a closeup of the clamp setup with a piece of 3/8 by 2 flat stock bent in a "L" and hooking over the sub frame. I have no scanner so I can't print and scan. If you want I can send the drawings in an email to you in a dwg. format.

How do you cut 3/8" thick stock, and how do you bend to such a small radius?
