If it's that wet right now, you may have to mix in lime to dry it out first before grading.

It's not uncommon for it to take an extra load to load and a half from the estimate, just depends on the base and how wide you do it.

check this website out, lotview.net allows you to mark out an area to measure area.. or you can do just straight lines,
i use it all the time. here's what i came up with using it with your drawing (best i could mimic)

Mine is around 140' by 16' with 2 turnouts one single and a half wide, one two cars plus wide, mine was $2250. I had a good hard base below mine and that helps. He did all the leveling and prep work and had it all but about half a load done in one day.

I don't know how thick, but I'd guess 3"-4" most places, mine is two years old now and where we've driven on it daily the area our tires goes over is like concrete.

Based upon Dutch's measurements, 60 yards will finish off at about 4" compacted. Of course, shells may pack more or less than gravel, I don't know.

Have to say I kinda miss them. When I was growing up a lot of people I knew had a shell drive way.

All the good ice houses around Houston had shell parking lots.

Not in Cali either. They're probably on some endangered species list or must return to earth list or something.

We have way plenty of oyster shells here, as many or more than clams, but the clams break up and pack better so you end up with something akin to pavement in a few months to a year. They do use oysters here some for underfill if needed. You'd be surprised at how many people here don't know about them either. Plus some unscrupulous guys sell ones that aren't cleaned and dried properly and they stink to high heaven for weeks or months and it's turned people off.
