Clamp on Bucket Forks

I saw MadReferee's post on these and thought I'd build my own. First pic is the channel I picked up at my local recycling yard.

They look good.
Are they Hollow?

Yes, They are hollow underneath. But I think the channel iron is still strong enough to hold anything my bucket is going to lift anyway.

One thing I have found when I use mine to lift actual pallets is that I never get near over loading them.
Now when I use them to try to pop out a rootball or shove a big rock around I sometimes try too much at a time.
You will really enjoy being able to adjust them as to width, mine are fixed in position.
