I currently own a CK30HST and like it. But thinking about a new 35hp. As long as I'm looking, what John Deere or Kubota models are comparable? The Deere's all seem a little lighter without going up to a 4 series event though they offer similar horsepower and lifting capacity. I do like not needing ballast boxes or wheel weights all the time.

Look into the MT2 or the MT3 series from LS. They would outspec the Kub or JD, at a lower price.

Tractor capability is more closely correlated to tractor weight than any other single specification.
Bare tractor weight is a tractor specification easily found in sales brochures and web sites, readily comparable across tractor brands and tractor models, new and used.
Within subcompact and compact tractor categories, a significant tractor capability increase requires a bare tractor weight increase of 50%. It takes a 100% increase in bare tractor weight to elicit MY-OH-MY!

Perhaps you need a rear-engine Skid Steer or rear-engine Compact Track Loader rather than a front-engine tractor.
