Whats the best way to post picts?
I drove a 100 yds, then maybe 20 yds with park brake engaged. Did I fry anything? It works fine. I wish there was an audible alarm and may consider installing one. You dont feel a lag like a car would do. Easy to not see indicator in sunlight with sunglasses on.
Theres some tranny rattly noise at idle that goes away when clutch depressed---I dont hear it at higher rpm's. I suspect its a diesel resonance kinda like the tranny did when I had a 90 Dodge diesel 5 speed.
A slight knock/tick at idle from motor along with the usual diesel clacketa--wish I had a dealer closer to compare noises- however I really doubt theres a problem. It's easy to be critical of everything when it's new. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Im going to make a light bar to mount to the ROPS--the headlights aren't enough for tractoring into the night. I think two forward and two rear pointing. Heck of a strong rig.
Moved boulders that were 1/10th above ground I used to have to mow around. The fuel is a pain to fill where its at, will need a fuel caddy set-up.

To post pics, they need to be under 100kb. A good resizing program I see mentioned alot is Irfanview (or something like that). Or, if you want, you could set up a gallery in the Photos section. You can have images up to 500kb in size with a maximum allowed space of 5MB.

To attach an image in the post, make sure I want to preview my post and/or attach a file is checked. Then you can upload the image from the preview screen.

Ignoramus asks: How do you know how many meg they are now and can they be shrunk?
I used a Cannon S50 digital camera /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

When you transfer the photos to your computer, right click on them and click Properties. The file size will be given in the window that pops up.

Link

This is the slickest way to reduce that I've seen so far.

MikePA: Cleaned up long URL. Please review your message before posting it. It's simple not to do this. Just insert a descriptive word or two between the {url=http://whatever}Enter words here{/url} instead of the entire URL. Replace parentheses with brackets in previous example.

Its funny you mention the parking brake concern today. I did the same thing while bush hogging my field today as well. I really could not tell the brake was on. Could not see the indicator in sunlight with the instrument cluster covered with seed and dust. Luckily I only went maybe 20 yards and had to back up. Noticed the tractor came to a complete quick stop instead of rollling forward some. I double check my self now the rest of the day.

I've left mine on quite a few times. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to be much of a problem. It still works fine. No indicator light on my tractor. I usually notice when I push in the clutch and the tractor comes to an immediate stop.

Mine makes a helluva racket with the brake on and won't move.

Congratulations!!!! on the new tractor!!! Looking good.

Mine does has the same sort of rattle at idle that goes away when I push in the clutch. All seems to work just fine. 30 hours now. For fueling, I use a large funnel with a screen in it. I saw another post with a filter type funnel; but don't remember where. I use two 5 gallon containers and only put 4 gal in each. FYI you probably will have more fuel in the tank than you think; I overfilled the first time. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif fuel gauge is not linear. And, I also drove with the parking brake on a couple of times before I realized it was on; I've gotten into a routine and haven't done it since. I don't think you did any damage.

A CK30 HST is a good thing /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Nice property - makes me home sick /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hey Rick, Next time you start it up cold let me know if you hear a faint tick/ knock in the background amid the diesel clatter in the engine area. That noise didn't change with clutch in. I don't think it a "death noise"---just curious.
I was doing most of my work with ear muffs on initially when "new" (less than 5 hrs) then started it up this am and was listening unmuffled.
Didnt hear it so much with engine sped up.
I didn't "baby" the motor too much but didnt abuse it either---varied speeds occasionally and kept between 1900-2200 working and not idling for prolonged periods.
Mower found an old loggers cable and bogged the motor way down as belt squealed---I pushed clutch in and stopped to examine as soon as I realized. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Heres the tractor that works great but is just undersized to mow 3 plus acres regularly so now it just gets the smaller spots after Kioti went to town...

Right click on a picture, then select "properties" and you'll see what size it is. I've used different ways to resize pictures, but the one described in this post is the best I've found so far.

I haven't had that brake problem with my CK30hst. It's a wet brake, so you should be OK.
My CK has 20 hours. I noticed the same rattling noise just like you along with the engine noise at idle. My dealer said it's normal.
The fuel fill isn't the greatest. When mine reads 1/4 tank, it will take five gallons. I use a big funnel with a screen.

 / CK30HST newbie questions #18
That low idle "tick" is normal for that engine. No worries.
I'm not sure you're pushing the brakes down hard enough before engaging the lock. On my CK20HST, if I leave the brakes on hard, it hits the pressure relief valve and I'm not going anywhere until I release the brake. The brakes can be engaged at different pressures. Make sure you push as hard as possible on both pedals and then engage the lock lever. If this doesn't keep you from knowing it's on with movement, you may need to adjust the brakes some.
