Yup, overheating. Fan belt quite worn, replaced with Napa A41

Replaced thermostat with one from O’Reillys. I drilled a weep hole in flange area. Was a hair smaller diameter but right temp. Great fit. Cut my own gasket. 000.jpg

Ran it about an hour and needle steady between the dots.

Kioti could have done a little better on the fan belt. It only drives the water pump and alternator but even with keeping it adjusted correctly, it only lasted about 700 hours.

Thank you for the part numbers. I tried to find a fan belt locally but with it being a metric size, the parts people were confused.

Finding equivalent substitutions for Kioti can be frustrating. I took old belt into Napa because they claimed to have replacement on website. It was marked HM41.5. Clerk insisted A39 was correct. Too short and cost me another 42 mile trip. She was less help with thermostat. ☹️
Clerk at OReillys pulled out calipers and measured, asked if it had to be brass. Came back in short order, compared the two and pointed out no weep hole. Told him I had a drill press.
Once I know the A or B size I normally just get my belts off eBay.
