Kioti CK30
Well the tractor came yesterday. It ended up being a CK-30
rather than the CK25 I ordered due to a mixup- Kioti HQ in
fact was out of CK25 gear models and a long wait was expected.

I got a little upset and said I was ready to walk unless they
gave me the 30 on the lot for the 25 price. They offered to
give me a loaner while waiting but I ended up getting the
30...for a price in between the 25 and 30.

I don't think this was bait and switch since I proposed it (heh)
but The dealer needs to check with the factory before they
give delivery times!

They forgot to bring the manual but will mail it. Is there anything else I should do besides checking fluids and looking for loose bolts?

Get out the grease gun.
I expect its a "gear" not an HST since you say CK30?
Be careful if its the HST not to kick it out of low to neutral on a hill with your left leg. And make sure you are really, really in low instead of half way---it can jump out.
Happy tractor time! You wont regret an extra 5 hp. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Almost to pretty to get dirty! You'll like the extra 5hp. Especially with the brush hog. More PTO hp.
I gave my CK30hst a good going over. Some fluids were low and a little extra grease was needed. After hearing the members talk about the nuts and bolts, I only found a few not fully tightened. Other than those checks, you should be ready to go.
Congratulations and happy tractoring.

Well I did some bush hogging just now. Effortlessly cut 5 ft
high weeds and brush. I Kept rpm around 2000 and changed
it periodically for break-in.

This is the CK30 gear for no other reason than my liking
to press pedals and shift levers.

Not having the manual made for quite a search for the oil
dipstick. Finally found that secret place.

It sure is quiet!

I just did the flatter parts until I get used to it but I have
a question concerning the more sloping areas.

Does the 3 pt hitch allow the hog to float up if it needs to?
(like in a depression)

I heard someone say if you want it to float to remove the top link bar--at least that was the hint on my RFM. Anyone??

   / CK30 came in #10
What do you need it to float for, cant you just raise it to where you need it with it hooked up normally?

I'm not sure if it's all modern diesels or the breed, but many have made the same comment about my CK20.

Sure, I can raise it up for some things. I tried that near some
fences.

Some of the terrain is such that I would be having to look
behind me most of the time though.

I suspect the 3 pt already can just float up freely but I'm
not sure. I wouldn't want to bend anything.

I have only one day tractor experience!

Yes the 3ph should float . I do not believe to many CUT's have down pressure set up on there 3ph . There are a lot of guy's on this site that eat, sleep and daydream about tractors and their operation and if I am wrong in my assumption they will quickly swoop down ,grab me in their claws and carry me off .

BigAl is right, the 3pt hitch doesn't have down pressure, so it floats up in those conditions.
If you send me your e-mail addy to kiotijohn
@bellsouth.net, I can send you a Word.Doc file that has the CK30 manual on it.
All the information one needs is not in any of these manuals, but it's a help.

You dont want driveshaft at greater than 15 degree angle---its not designed for that.
Another thing I posted previously was to check lug nut torque---mine were VERY loose--the rear is supposed to be at 295 lb ft., the front I think was 50# (says in manual)---It takes a 3/4 drive torque wrench ($320.00) and a 15/16- 3/4 drive socket (45.00) socket with extension ( 35.00) on the back---or rent or borrow one.

Wow 295 lb ft.... That beats what my torque wrench and impact tool will do. I will just drive it to a nearby garage and let them tighten it.

I now have a manual thanks to Kiotijohn.

All grease fittings had obvious blobs of fresh grease around the nipples so I think I am good to go there.

I note that all levers and controls are very tight. Latches for hood, gas cap, etc benefited greatly from a dab of grease.

Shuttle shift lever was very tight but is loosening up noticeably after a few hours.

I bush hogged a few acres of grass and weeds about 5 feet high. No problem. The FEL bucket nicely protects the grille.
I brought it down a few inches off the ground turned slightly up...after hogging it was filled with kentucky 31 grass seed.

After the lawn area dries out a bit I will try some landscape work. The ground is saturated from Dennis remnants...I think a 4000 lb tractor would trash the grass unless the ground is really dry.

Thanks to all for your help!

My DK lugs are 165 ft/lb! Sure its not Nm's (Newtonmeter) your reading? One Nm = .75 ft/lb and that would still put it at 198 ft/lb. Seems like alot for a CK30 lug.

The manual for the CK30 has it written as 290.7 lbf-ft. or 284.4 N-m. If you convert the N-m to ft-lb, it comes to 209.7 ft-lbs. I think a misprint. Must be the amerean language that KiotiJohn refers to. If you need to convert anything and I mean anything, try this website, www.onlineconversion.com. It's free.
I still agree with Greg that 209 seems high and 165 is probably closer to the actual torque. Maybe somebody that has the correct number will give it to all us CK30 owners.

Also, not to offend. Just the numbers from the book.

In all likelyhood with the longest 1/2 dr Snap-On breaker bar they make and the proper socket/extension one has fudged what my experienced arm has determined to be enough.
As I have been working 8-10 hrs a day times 22 years on vehicles I wouldnt recommend this to the casual user.
The tractor was delivered with lug nuts so loose you could turn them with a crescent wrench, as I tried because it was the only tool available at my remote locale, since I had about every size in my car tool box EXCEPT 15/16.
I have all the goods now at the remote spot, and found I wasn't too far off.
I was shocked to find some of the BIG motorhomes go to 425 lb feet.
Your CK30HST tractor is good at a range Id say 240 to 260 ish they wont fall of or rims get eaten out holes.
This high number comes from the use of non tapered holes.
Its flat steel rim against flat hub, with high grade fastners.
At the roughly 35# the rears were at I would have had damaged studs and rims. IMO
