one other quickie - if lift capacity at pivot pins is 1375, does that mean you can lift 1375 to full height? or do you have to subtract the units weight from that? what is breakout force? the point at which i see hydraulic fluid on my sunglasses?

Heck, I wouldn't worry about that if it's a good deal, it's a good deal. I mix and match many things, and JD stuff is good. I wouldn't hesitate to put another brand name on mine as long as I could get a good price on it. Other than that, I don't know Jack about snowblowers, thank goodness.

To me, a toothbar is a must. A dedicated grapple won't have sides as you would have with an add-on on your bucket. You would be able to pick things up easier, and probably get a larger load, but for the price difference, I think add-ons are just fine.

I think most of the quick attach mounts will handle skid steer type implements, and that's what I'd go for because of an abundance of those types in the market.

I have a 12" and a 16" bucket for the hoe. I like both for different jobs, but for trenching, I like the 12" as it empties well, and gives me a trench that I can get my hands down in and work. Sixteen inch would be overkill for most of my trenching, and some say they don't go over a 9", but some friends have told me theirs are sometimes harder to dump with moist materials.

I've answered the curved arm loader question in a reply to your PM.

I guess I was typing my last post when you posted this one and I didn't see it until now.

Measuring the lift cap. at the pivot pins is not a realistic reflection of what you can lift. The real capacity will be determined by what's out in front of the pivot pins, your bucket.

Many have posted how much will be lost, I don't know that exact figures, but it can be significant. Math just isn't my game!

I wish all MFG would post the caps. from the middle of the bucket, but then, we've learned that many of those are not realistic either. Each MFG can say whatever it wants as nobody is testing and reporting the actual figures as is done with Large Farm equipment.

I feel the toothbar is necessary, just as I feel 4WD is. You get a lot more work out of your loader on a smaller tractor.

The toothbar not only helps to break up a compacted mound, making it easier to get a good bite of material, but it also helps to get more of a brush pile, or a mixed-material pile into the bucket whereby at times, those things will sometimes only be pushed out front and off the bucket lip without the teeth to grab and help it in.

I didn't have a toothbar for a couple of months after getting my tractor, and the after was MUCH better than the before.

Toothbars can easily be taken off in about 5 minutes or less as well if one desires to do some work where they would interfere with doing a good job, such as smoothing a backdragging.

Mine is on MOST of the time and I use the heel of my bucket often for smoothing over, so not a big issue to have it on.

Hi John, Where in the Berkshires are you? If youd like to come try out my kioti ck30 hst with the woods 1012 loader your free to. Im just outside Troy NY, probably 1/2 hour from Pittsfield Mass.. I have concrete blocks that vary from 1200- 1700 lbs, you can see for yourself it that setup will satisify your needs.. You can pm me if youd like, id be more then happy to show you. Im also supposed to be getting my woods 80x backhoe any day, hopefully tomorrow. Im getting the 16" bucket with the thumb.. One thing that Kioti John hit on is you may get manufactures claiming to have certain capacities, but their is no real test in place for compacts, and i truely believe that some dont meet what they say they can.. Let me know if youd like to see for yourself, Id be happy to show you.. Matt
