Ck20s Power steering issue! Little help please!

Every now and then my power steering quits. Everything else works fine(loader as well). Hydro fluid looks good. When checking dipstick should it be seated or just inserted? Anything else I can look at?

The ck20 has a single gear pump that flows the oil through a priority valve. Priority is supposed send a specific amount of oil to the steering and remainder to the load & 3pt. The regulator stem or spring in that valve might be sticking & dumping all flow to the loader circuit.

That definetly sounds right. Can this be taken apart and cleaned or do you just replace?

You can look at it and if you don't find anything obvious [piece of hose, dirt ect] from experience replace it. I don't know what valve is used on the 20 but most are cartridge style and the cartridge can be easily replaced without messing with the body. CJ
