I started noticing a stain on the concrete floor under my little toy. Taking a look under the engine, I found coolant on the frame. Doing a bit more looking, I found that it is coming from the right side of the engine where the coolant line attaches to the block. This fitting appears to screw into the block; it has flats for a wrench or socket. Before I start wrenching on it, I need to know if it is screwed in and or pressed in. I know it has flats on it but..... Has anyone else had a problem with this fitting?

OK, I'm putting a wrench to this sucker in the morning. I was hoping to hear from a dealer on whether this is a good idea or not. I had thought about just adding some radiator sealant, but I hate the stuff. Anywho, somebody stop me before I screw up my engine block!

Make sure and check the hose clamps. I had some leaks on my CK20S last winter that was running along several things. I finally found the source on one of the radiator hoses where there is a hard line in between 2 rubber hoses. The leak was at one of the connections between the rubber line and the hard line. The hose clamps were painted, but aside from getting a socket in there, it turned fairly easily and that was all it took to stop the leak.

Novi,

I will double check in the morning, but it looks like it is coming from the engine block side of the adapter. I didn't get to it today, had a honey do, but will be at it tomorrow.

Thanks!

Well after draining the coolant and removing the hose, I was unable to budge that fitting screwed into the block. I did not want to use a cheater bar and break something, so I will give some prestone stop leak a try. Oh well, it was due for a coolant change.
