I have a CK2610 with about 220 hours. It has difficulty starting it if it has been idle for a day or more. I run the glow plug and crank the engine. It starts and runs for about 30 seconds, then looses rpm and dies. I wait 10 seconds and try again - it usually starts and keeps running then, but the first 10 seconds it runs very sluggish, then the RPMs come back up and everything seems ok.
Sometimes it takes two tries.

It is not due to a cold start. I have tried it after the engine has completely cooled - 8 hours or so, and it starts right up. It only happens if it has been sitting for one or more days.

I am afraid that this is going to get worse and one time will not run at all. Any ideas?

Sounds like fuel delivery to me. Thanks for coming to my TED talk! But yeah could be number of issues pertaining to fuel delivery.

It does sound like a fuel thing. Perhaps you have one or more loose delivery lines to injectors allowing fuel to bleed back out. Maybe you have injectors not closing completely. Perhaps your fuel filter is a bit loose. Regardless, it sounds as though you're losing prime somewhere and having to pump fuel back into the lines. You could try cranking without the glow plugs to prime it. Then light the glow plugs and see if it's any better.

I'll give that a try. Thanks

It sounds like a fuel "prime" problem but here's something quick to try. I think your 2610 has mechanical (vs computer) fuel injection. If so, but try a couple shots shot of WD40 in the key hole (and cycle the key a few times). The stop solenoid "hold" coil must be powered continuously (directly from the key switch) or the engine stops. Dirt or corrosion on that contact in the switch could cause your problem. The restart (or recent start) might wipe the contact to clean them temporarily.

I ll give that a try but I don't think thats it. The engine does not suddenly stop. The RPMs decrease until the engine dies, like it is being starved of fuel. On the restart, the RPMs are sluggish and gradually pick up until it runs normally. The exhaust also smokes like crazy until it warms up.

Agree. A switch/stop solenoid problem would cause a sudden stop, like shutting off the key.

I've never seen a Kioti so bear with me. Does it have a lift pump - a kind of pre pump to feed the injection pump? If it does that could be the issue - unlikely as they last "forever" but it could have an issue. They are a gear type pump and may have to get up to speed to feed fuel smoothly to the injection pump. Of course many small tractors are gravity fed and have no lift pump. It was a thought.

Don't know. I'll have to check.

Wondering if you致e found a solution to this problem. My CK2610 just hit 200 hours and is having the same problems. If I decrease throttle quickly it stumbles and dies. Then just cranks and won稚 restart. I figured it was a fuel prime issue so I pump the manual primer on top of the filter housing but no luck. I notice if I twist the key backwards almost to activate the glow plugs it will generally start and then run fine until I decrease throttle again. Weird thing is, it does not light the glow plug indicator light like I remembering it doing when I use them in the winter for cold starts. Wondering if anyone has any input before I reach out to the dealer.
