choosing between a used with no DPF and newer with DPF

It depends on how Kubota is structuring the incentive financing, and on the dealer. When I was shopping Kubotas winter before last there was no cash discount. One dealer told me that the then-current deal was that Kubota supplies the financing so the dealer cost is the same either way. But he said that it had been different in the past. Kubota changes their incentives a few times a year. Other brands will have different deals. You're right that the difference between 0% and the going rate is getting paid by the consumer somehow, but sometimes the way it's structured you can't capture that savings by paying cash.

I've had the same experience. The cash price was the same as the 0% financing price from my dealer. No savings to be had. I financed.

Yep...if that the unit you want and your not getting screwed in price , why not finance for 0%.

In 2017, could have 7% no problem...this year might be tougher,...but I predict interest will continue to go down despite what you may hear on cnbc.

That **** dpf tho! Watch videos of regens and people concern of fire. I mow around a lot of crp. When conditions are right, that grass is like gasoline!

Using my phone apologies for multiple posts at once

I would vote the mx5800 out of your choices. Buy it and go to work :). If you want a slightly beefier tractor for the same money look at the New Holland Workmaster 50 or 60. You can get them for the same money with more weight and stronger loader, just went through this about 8 months ago. Bought the WM 60 at 0%.

Either way I'm subbing in to see what you decide on.

I'll throw out another option for you consider.... Massey 2705e; no dpf or regen cycle, excellent reviews and in the same class as kubota M series.

If it's for business, then financing probably makes sense. I have been fortunate enough to have never have made payments on anything. Doing so, would really put a damper on the joy of ownership. Still paying for something after the newness is long gone.

I also can't help but think that the price of big ticket items wouldn't be so high if people actually had to pay for them up front.

I work around a fleet of semi trucks, which have been required to have DPF longer than tractors. We see issues daily, in one truck or another. We do not haul loads, run empty, so that is against us, but still we have a lot of EXPENSIVE repairs. My truck went to the shop Wednesday because the regen light came on, and the truck would not go into a parked regen. 4 hours at shop rates to get them to clear the codes that weren't showing and force it into regen (via computer) for something that did not show to be wrong. When I took it to the shop, I got out of one truck and got into another that had just been fixed for another regen problem. These trucks are around 500,000 miles, just out of warranty.

No wonder that I have heard the price at auction for used pre-emission highway trucks is sky hi. People would rather pour a pile of money into an older truck then be hung out to dry with the wonderful , fancy new technology.

It's my uneducated opinion that's true in regards to 0% financing. I believe the manufacturers have inflated the price enough to offset their "free financing". As consumers we have done this to ourselves. No one else to blame. It's the want it now mentality.
