Rear Blade Choosing a rear blade - need advice

Jim,
If your tractor has more than 1 position to attach the top link, try using the bottom point. Your lift arms won't go any higher, but you'll probably get more tilt to raise the blade end higher. Just a thought.

Ed,

You mentioned that you planned to do some ditching, so keep in mind that with a 6 foot blade you will probably have to use the offset feature to get the end of the blade into the ditch with the blade angled. I do similar work with a 6 foot Woods blade, and now wish I had gone for the 7 foot blade. A quick test is to have your dealer hook one of the scrapers you're looking at to a tractor with wheel width similar to yours, set it at an angle, and see how far it extends past the tire. Then keep in mind that you'll want your rear tire to stay on the road surface while you are working the ditch or scraping off the road shoulder.

Good luck.
